Large room, huge lockers, super comfy beds, bathroom inside room…and very clean! Can’t ask for more from hostel and yet they have great roof terrace overlooking ocean and a great pool too! Friendly and helpful staff and a convenient cafe/bar right on the premises.

A combination hostel and hotel was a brilliant idea. I had never paid much attention to Room to Board, even though I spend 2 months a year in the town of Jaco. I was forced to find a new place to stay this year and found a gem. I give all of these amenities 5 stars. Clean, modern private room with bath and air conditioning. I heard no complaints from those who stayed in the hostel rooms. Great pool area. Bar and restaurant that also serves the public. Observation deck with hammocks and shaded areas. Fully stocked community kitchen. (not all guests remember to do their dishes) Friendly, helpful staff of volunteers who earn their room and board. Surf instructors for those who want lessons. Really fun guys. Dedicated cleaning staff who not only keep the rooms spotless but the entire property as well. The general maintenance guy never slowed down. Special events and parties at the bar. Secure parking. Great location. 100 yards from the beach. Quiet hours were rarely disobeyed. During my 6 week stay I made friends with people from all over the world. Hopefully I haven't missed anything. I highly recommend Room to Board.

We had an absolute blast! Best Experience ever! Not only were the accommodations so well kept and spotless, the food and drinks were some of the best we had the entire trip! The atmosphere was incredible! The entire staff made you feel like family! Made some great new friends while there! Loved every minute and can not wait to go back! Without a doubt this will always be where I stay!!!!

This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was amazing. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the cleaning staff was kind and kept our room very clean for our whole stay. They came to clean the bathroom every day and changed our linens on the bed several times throughout our stay (9 days). The food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced, as were the drinks. The tours we booked through the hostel were very safe and reasonably priced. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend staying here.

GO there! It's amazing! We went to Costa Rica for many years and that incredible Hostel is one of the best we could recommend. The food is amazing, and well priced. The place is so clean I would give it a 6* if it was possible. The staff is amazing! We stay there for 12 nights and it was nothing but perfect. The pool is so much fun with the slide, good vibe and 10 seconds away from the beach where you can surf all day! They have such a great variety of rooms that fit all needs and budget. It's literally like and hotel but with the young spirits. Not to mention the roof top to chill and watch de sunset! The owner and manager are always on site if you need anything! STRONGLY, recommend! I felt safe and the bar was so nice it felt like paradise!

Exactly what I was looking for out of my stay! Staff was welcoming, the food and drinks at the bar were delicious, and my shared hostel room was sparkling clean. Access and parking could not have been easier, and the beach is a football kick from the property. There was also plenty of space to store my surfboards, and a work-horse to aid the prep required to set up my fins and wax accordingly. I would recommend this hostel to anyone looking to make friends while traveling. Price for the value of the stay was 12 out of 10.
