Fantastic hotel

We turned up in a 6 berth camper. It was raining. The car park was full so we parked down a ways. $6 for Wifi. A long walk to the bathroom. It would seem they have an over inflated view of themselves. The park was average. You’re in the middle of no where but there’s a code for the bathroom. The owner was not very welcoming. I will say. The bathrooms were clean. Very clean. And they had a nice bath mat which sounds stupid. But we’ve been travelling a lot for a while in the motor home. And I noticed that. For $60 a night. I thought paying for wifi a joke as nowhere else does that. And it would seem they’ve filled in the old powered sites with cabins and pushed the people with vans down further away. In all the parks we have stayed. This one felt the most give us your money.

시설이 엄청 깨끗하고 좋아요. 근처에 반딧불이 보는 곳이랑 폭포 보는 산책길도 있어요. Cctv도 있고 전체적으로 체계가 있는 곳 같아서 좋아요. 와이파이 유료고 샤워는 12분 후 불이 꺼지는게 조금 아쉽지만 그런 점들은 크게 상관없을 정도로 좋아요.

Of all the places I stayed in NZ this was the most hostile. Every interaction with the management involved being shouted at. Yes the place was very clean, but the attitude is unacceptable. This was after being shouted at for arriving a little after 9 pm, even though I phoned to say we'd be late. I was accused of stopping for dinner which made us late. I was asked where I'd started my day and then told it didn't take all day to drive and they thought I'd stopped along the way! We left with a plea from management not to give them a bad review as they'd had too many bad reviews.

WARNING!!! I never write reviews but am so incensed by the garbage Jacksons Retreat Alpine Holiday Park sells at top $ I just had to... 1. A crappy tent site for $48 is bad enough, more than any other far superior sites on the South Island but ... wait for it ... 2. We booked a pre erected tent for 4 fully expecting a 4 man tent in the style of the canvas tents available. You need to look at the photo to see what they provided - if it wasn't serious it would be hilarious! A $50 warehouse tent stuffed in the corner of a hay shed on the dirt!!!

This place is a must stay if you are in the area as a respectable accommodations stay! We were in a 6.3m camper-van and the site provided us water and power. We were not in close proximity to any other campers at site 28 on the night we stayed. The location is excellent with pleasant valley views and plenty of improvements under way. The managers were very friendly and helpful. On-site facilities were extremely good, toilets and showers were lovely and clean. You do have to take the time to walk to the waterfall and go at night to see the glow worms. A very good stay ☺️☺️☺️
