Do NOT accept a room facing union street ie main entrance. There are nightclubs and fast food places. The noise until 0300 is unbelievable. Especially friday and saturday. Go riverside ONLY
Always enjoy our stays at The Royal Highland Hotel it’s excellent position always gives us a great base to get out and about, very nice room, and friendly staff make the stay even better
We stayed 2 nights on a Rabbies Outlander Tour. The hotel’s reception area is also their bar. We were originally given a handicapped room on the first floor and changed to a room on the 5th floor. The room was very quiet with comfortable beds and pillows. Their were breakfast had a wide selection of choices including gluten free bread. The hotel’s location was close too the river and many restaurants and grocery stores. I would recommend this hotel for a brief stay in Inverness.
訪訪客Located five minutes outside of Drumnadrochit, but the owner gave us excellent directions and we found it without a problem. You do need to drive to find somewhere to eat (and there’s very limited choice in the evenings), but the owners recommended the Loch Ness Inn which we dropped in to before arrival and the food and beer were excellent Warm friendly welcome by the lady of the house, showed us around and explained everything. Room was excellent – very spacious and all controlled by Amazon Echo (including the heating). View from our window was across Loch Meiklie and there were even binoculars in the room for a better view. Coffee / tea making facilities with an array of snacks to help ourselves to if we wanted. Bathroom was great with large walk in shower. Bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was continental only, but it was stunning. Wide range of pastries, cereal, fruit etc with a selection of cold meats and different cheeses – one of our favourite breakfasts of our two weeks in Scotland. The hosts Stu and his wife were first class – excellent conversation over breakfast Great value for money. Would definitely stay here again if we’re ever in this part of the country.

The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms.
LLi-SanWhile the place is a little rundown, it was relatively clean and we had the extension to ourselves. Thus space was not an issue. Bathroom was nicely heated. Quiet neighbourhood yet just a short walk to eating places.

The breakfast had a good range of choices and was delicious. The staff were polite and friendly and were very happy to fuss over my small child!
This was a return trip to Inverness. We decided to stay with SYHA - what a great place to stay! Helpful staff, comfy beds, well equipped self cater kitchen. Yes it's a little bit of a walk from the middle of Inverness, but a very comfortable stay.

Breakfast was average but buffet style and plenty of it. Breakfast could easily be upgraded with better bread for toasting, not the cheap stuff! Food and drinks were hot and tasty enough. For the price, I expected a more classy breakfast.
Think hitch hikers hostel and you will get an idea of what this place is like. We had a room in the portacabin, which shook as people went pass in corridor. Sound proofing poor. Twin which was barely adequate in size. Receptionist friendly and helpful but not worth the price. Especially, room only. There is a real lack of local amenities after 4pm.
