The meals are very poor, and very expensive for what you get, this is our second time this year we have visited for a meal with friends. The young staff can't cope and need to be trained up in every aspect. Sad to see a good hotel go DOWN so badly. One star is all I can give,

When the menu says steak pie, i tend to expect steak pie. What i got was a bowl of stew with the flattest soggiest peice of puff pastry on top. Every peice of food placed on the table with the exception of the chips were microwaved to death. Roasted vegetables microwaved to mushy lumps. Mashed potatoes ? Same. I think every dish comes in a bag and gets heated by Chef Ding. Didn't have dessert don't know what microwaved ice cream taste like but didnt want to risk it. Did Imyself or my wife complain? Well no one came near us to ask how the food was. Do yourself a favour and avoid . Good car park though

A bit of a slow burn. We needed to find somewhere to stay to break our long journey to Skye and this seemed to tick the boxes. First impressions were not great as hotel is right on the old main road, looks more like a pub from the outside and parking is down a relatively narrow gap between properties. And then you have to walk right back to the main road to get in. But we loved it and would come back! Room was very spacious - two small double beds meant we could both stretch out and get a good nights sleep after a long journey. Bathroom not luxurious but large and had everything you needed. All very clean as well. But the real stand out was the evening meal - absolutely superb. And such friendly staff who were welcoming on arrival and friendly throughout. Recommended.

We spent 2 nights at the Inverkip hotel as a base for a day trip to Bute. A wonderful small hotel. We were a group of 4 and had the family room with 2 doubles and a twin. Both rooms were nicely appointed and characterful. We ate twice in the restaurant food was excellent and reasonably priced with a well chosen short wine list and the bar has an excellent range of whiskies. They also offer a great cooked breakfast with good quality produce which was included in our rate. With all this the thing that made our stay were the wonderful staff, who to a person did everything to make our stay a memorable one, From local history to advice on the whisky selection their knowledge and enthusiasm was palpable. Every team member had a smile and were super polite and helpful. I have stayed in 5 star hotels across the world and many could learn a great deal from the Inverkip Hotel team.

I had a lovely meal of soup, scampi and chips and tablet ice cream in the restaurant. The staff are very efficient and friendly. I recommend you pay this restaurant a visit if you haven’t done so already. I will be back again at some point. I have eaten at this restaurant for many years.

Where do you start! Absolutely amazing... My colleague and I were thoroughly impressed. From check-in to departure, everything was exceptional. The staff were brilliant throughout the stay and we look forward to our next visit to this exceptional hotel!
