This sweet ranch home abuts Acadia National Park's Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse entrance. Its close to the Acadia National Parks walking trails Ship Harbor and Wonderland. Seawall is also not to far from Driftwood Cottage. There is a big wrap around front deck along with a big front yard. You and your family can enjoy the fire pit and play set in peace and quite environment. Driftwood Cottage is pretty private so you can enjoy your vacation with your family. The cottage is pet friendly and your pet will enjoy the spacious environment. Restaurants, little shops, grocery stores and the library are located near by. You will enter this comfortable ranch home through a spacious mudroom. Inside, the eat-in kitchen offers seating for 4 at the table and 2 more at the bar. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances and is well appointed. The adjacent living room is spacious, offering multiple spaces for gathering. Featuring two bedrooms, the master is set with a king size bed. The master bedroom does have TV and amazon fire stick set up. It gives you a much better feel for the property, quiet location plus it shows the close proximity to the water's edge and dock. The Treehouse is a second story 2 bedroom apartment, 28x32. It has a full bath w/ tub/shower combination, a heat pump with electric heat and cooling, a range and refrigerator. There is a washer and dryer on the ground floor as well as a second bathroom, accessible from the outside of building. These spaces are provided as additional amenities for tenants and shared with the cleaners and groundskeeper. The spacious living area has a vaulted ceiling and opens onto a deck through sliding glass doors. A gas grill is provided. The shore of Bass Harbor is just a short stroll down the driveway where there is a shared dock with two other cottages, a row boat and kayaks for our tenants use. From this cozy space in an authentic fishing village visit Acadia National Park, Somes Sound(the only fjord on the east coast) and lots of shops, museums, and galleries in our 3 island towns. Countless artists and artisans are drawn to the region by its natural beauty. Out door adventures abound in this rugged landscape. Boat cruises, hiking, biking, and sea kayaking will reward you with spectacular scenery and views of wildlife. You can get to the parts of the park within 10 minutes and to Bar Harbor in about 30 minutes.The Aldernest Cottage is adjoining our home overlooking Blue Hill Bay. The rocky shore front of Maine is just a short walk across the lawn. You can have your coffee in the morning sitting on the rocks while you enjoy our private, peaceful setting. In the evening you will enjoy the beautiful sunsets that will probably take your breath away.The Aldernest Loft (upstairs apartment) has two carpeted bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with two twins. There is a dining room/living room area, fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a washer/dryer. You will find our rates competitive and the setting incomparable.
