Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cabin get-a-way near Fossil Creek. Nestled at the north end of Strawberry, AZ, adjacent to the U.S. Forest, this 1/2-acre lot provides lots of space for hiking, wildlife watching, or relaxing on one of two decks. The 2 bdrm cabin includes a loft with 3 private queen beds. The mudroom also allows for stunning views in cabin comfort.This cabin is our dream come true. We are furnishing it for our comfort as well as yours! We have tried to create a space that we are proud to rent and you’ll be proud to stay. We have enjoyed finding cabin decor treasures and even framing vintage or vintage-inspired cabin wall art. If you feel like you’re home, our hope is that you’ll become return renters and then part of our cabin legacy. You may park up to two cars in the front of the cabin and one on the cement driveway (in front of the garage). Please enjoy the local restaurants right here in Strawberry, such as the Pie Bar, with dozens of flavors of empanadas, served hot all day. There are many more restaurants in nearby Pine. If you love antiquing or junkin’ we have many options in Strawberry and Pine. Stop by the quaint stores along Hwy 87, in Pine. There is a grocery store in Pine, Ponderosa Market, if you need anything or you can head down to Payson and have a few more options, including WalMart. Download the All Trails app for trail maps and information. Fossil Creek, previously closed after a large fire, is now open and is magnificent. Consult All Trails or other reputable trail maps for information. As you can see, this cabin and community are a part of the forest. Please be careful and responsible to protect this cabin, our neighbors and the wildlife. At this time, we do not have an usable outdoor fire pit. Once we can build one that is safe for you and the forest, we will add that. In the meantime, no outdoor fires. in addition, we don’t have a valid fire permit. Your door code is required to access (sent on date of arrival).Take note that cell service is spotty in this area and only Wi-Fi calling from the house is reliable. To have access to the app (Alladin) that opens the garage from outside, you will need to provide the host with a preferred email. Matches and starter kindling are provided but the wood fuel is for-sale-only._____________________________________ADVENTURES & LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: Visit Tonto Natural Bridge (7 miles away) and plenty of other trails close by. Water Wheel Falls (15 miles away) is our favorite easy to access water with gorgeous waterfalls and is great for kids. If you are ready for a big hike, Bob Bear Trailhead (2.2 miles away) takes you to Fossil Springs and rewards you with beautiful cave of bright aqua blue water. It's 4 miles downhill to the water and 4 miles back up the hill to get out. Water and electrolytes are highly recommended. The Strawberry strip is just 2 miles from the house. We highly recommend eating at Fossil Creek Farm, Pie Bar and getting the monster pizza at Momma Joes. Unwind and meet some Strawberry locals at Sportsman Chalet. They have cold beer, a great Bison burger, and the Wine-burger also comes highly recommended. Pine Downtown is just 5.5 miles from the house and offers great options like THAT Brewery, Old County Burger, Old County Inn, and definitely check out the Pine-Strawberry Farmers market open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can find our cookies freshly baked from Timberwolf Homestead there! The Pine Creek Lavender Farm is a lovely spot to visit as well. Ponderosa Market in Pine has a large selection of basic necessities, firewood, alcohol, and groceries.Want to check out a bar in the woods?! Below the Rim Meadery is worth the trip! Be sure to approach from Houston Mesa Rd near Payson. Google can take you on a nearly impassable route through the forest roads.It's a scenic 1-hour drive to Woods Canyon Lake, where you can rent a variety of watercraft and enjoy being out on the lake. We love to rent a canoe and explore the trails along the shore with our pup. Both Woods Canyon Lake and Willow Springs Lake are great for fishing or swimming off the shore. Knoll Lake is known for having very clean and clear water. Perfectly nestled in the forest in Strawberry, AZ the Kodiak Bunkhouse, Studio Cabin blends seamlessly into its environment. It sits inconspicuously on our 1 acre of property. It is the guest house next to the main cabin.Walking around the Bunkhouse to the back you will find the gas grill and comfortable patio seating that overlooks the dense forest of surrounding pine trees. Upon entering the cabin you will quickly realize this is not your grandad's hunting cabin. 2 queen sized beds occupy one end of the cabin and an efficient kitchenette resides on the side. The bathroom features a glass shower door with brand new tile. During our winters, you will enjoy the warmth and romantic atmosphere generated by the electric fireplace that sits in front of the futon couch that can easily be turned into a bed. Entertainment is provided with a smart TV, cards, board games, fast WiFi and the local bars and restaurants within a few miles.
