Spacious - Comfortable - Private. Looking for an Adirondack Mountain vacation for a large family, extended family or a getaway with friends? This 4-bedroom home has 6 beds, plus additional sleeping. Bedroom 1: 1 King Bed; Bedroom 2: 1 Queen plus 1Twin; Bedroom 3: 1 King; Bedroom 4: 1 Queen plus 1 Twin. Plus, there are 2 additional fold-up twin beds available in closet of king bedrooms to roll out; linens, blankets & pillows included, all on 2nd floor. 2nd Floor has 2 full bathrooms, one in the Master Bedroom, the 2nd in hallway just outside of bedrooms. On the main floor, for additional sleeping, or for someone not wanting to climb stairs, the living room couch pulls out to a queen bed and the couch in den pulls out to a full bed, technically a 5th bedroom, allowing room for 12 people maximum. Nightly pricing is for 8 guests, however, there is sufficient room for up to 4 additional guests (total 12 guests) for an additional $50/guest/night. Main Floor has a 3rd full bathroom (vanity, toilet, shower unit). Laundry room adjacen with full size washer/dryer; various detergents Included. Home hosts a spacious kitchen - fully equipped with pots/pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, platters, coffee/tea station, slow cooker, pasta/lobster pot, plus much more. Plenty of room for multiple cooks. The breakfast table has seating for 6-8 plus with counter seating; large living room with 2 couches and 4 comfy chairs (2 swivel/rocker/recliners); dining room for 8-12. Front den offers a convertible couch (opens to full-size couch), with modest privacy as an additional bedroom to sleep, relax, read a book or play a game. Out back is a large deck which overlooks the AuSable River with a bbq grill and deck seating for all. To spend time by the water, just go down the back stairs and follow the path leading right to the shore of the river. The front porch has volleyball nets and badminton nets, croquet, etc., basketball/soccer ball/kickball for spring/summer/fall and a selection of sleds for winter sliding. The property is adjacent to the Keene Community Center which offers a Playground for young children (as of 4/04, currently being updated), basketball & tennis courts, ice skating rink in winter with sledding hill, sports field and a Pavillion; available to reserve for occasions i.e., birthday party, bridal shower, etc. Home is within walking distance to a wonderful fresh/homemade bakery/food store and nearby restaurants, shops, etc. The house is centrally located in the Adirondack High Peaks with just a short drive to most of the Adirondack 46 mountains and a15-20 scenic drive to Lake Placid. Welcome packet provided with information regarding local restaurants, grocery stores, beer/wine/liquor shops, etc. with phone numbers or website info. Plenty of parking in driveway for multiple cars. Waking up in fresh Adirondack air with deer peeking thru your windows in the distance, you are surrounded by tress and private trails, and yet have creature comfort. You have excellent access to grocery stores, ADK hiking trails and Lake Placid. 1st floor has two rooms with queen beds, a living room with a 55 inch tv and sofa which unfolds to a small queen bed, and washer and dryer. 2nd floor has master bedroom with spacious study along with living room, kitchen, and enclosed deck to enjoy the outside without concern from bugs. 1/2 acre fully enclosed dog yard has access from both floors of the house. Keene Kottage is located in Keene Valley, NY. in the heart of the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Keene Kottage is reminiscent of many of the renowned Ausable Club Cottages and is positioned on the picturesque Ausable River. The Kottage is adjacent to several restaurants, quaint shops, and abundant trail systems. The Kottage is furnished for relaxation and enjoyment. The famous Mountaineer Shop is nearby and the Farmers Market is within walking distance.The Kottage is in pristine condition and evokes a Kottage feeling in tune with the local community architecture. The Kottage is located on the picturesque East Branch of the Ausable River. The covered deck on the rear of the Kottage overlooks the river and provides a peaceful water sound effect to lull you to sleep after a busy day on the trails. For the outdoor enthusiast the High Peaks trails beckon from any direction. Whiteface Mountain Ski Area is a 15 minute drive and the Olympic Village of Lake Placid is also just a quick 15 minute drive on a scenic road through the Cascade Lakes. A unique feature of Keene Kottage is the 3 season sleeping porch off the Master Bedroom with a full size bed. Children feel that they are sleeping in a tree house. A perfect hideaway for a child or grandchild.Guests will have full access to the property and grounds. The Kottage is equipped with a washer/dryer combination, gas grill on the deck overlooking the river, wi-fi throughout, and 2 flat screen televisions. The lawn overlooking the river is an area that is fenced in and would be perfect for young children .
