All the comforts of home, directly on the AuSable River! This 19th century building has 4 units, high ceilings, tons of natural light & gorgeous views of the river. Unit 3 is located up an enclosed set of stairs, which offers additional storage for skiing, fishing gear, etc. Each unit has shared access to the yard & fire pit overlooking the river & off street parking for 1 vehicle. Wonderful, location with several local amenities & close to many Adirondack attractions.Centrally, located between Lake Placid & Plattsburgh, NY in the heart of Au Sable Forks on the main road to Wilmington (White Face), & Lake Placid. We’re directly on the East branch of the Au Sable River & walking distance to many things. Including, a shuttle to Lake Placid/Whiteface. Unit 3 is located on the second floor and has 2 large, beautifully decorated bedrooms with views of the AuSable River. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed & bedroom 2 has a full size bed with a twin trundle. The open concept kitchen-living room features stainless steel appliances, butcher block countertops with bar seating, a large pantry with complimentary coffee & tea, a microwave & toaster oven. As well as tons of storage for additional food. The living room area has a 60” smart TV for all your streaming Apps. Each unit has shared access to the yard, which faces the river and features outdoor seating and a fire pit. Firewood, will be provided for your convenience. From the yard you can take the short path down the bank to access the river. This building was originally constructed in the 1900’s & still has some of it’s original charm but has been recently updated.Pets:One small to medium dog (under 50lbs) is allowed in the unit & must be leashed at all times, while outside. Pets are not to be left alone in the apartment unless they are crated or outside during your stay. All poop must be bagged & discarded in the trash bin & we ask that you do not allow your pets on the furniture or to dig holes in the yard. We’re allowing pets on a trial basis in the hopes that people will be respectful. Please, don’t ruin it for others. The River House is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom chalet that sleeps 8, tucked away in the Ausable Acres in Jay, NY, right on the West Branch Ausable River. This cozy home is on a private, secluded lot, yet close to many of the Adirondack area attractions making it an ideal location to make your home base during your winter getaway in the Adirondacks.The Ausable Acres community is located in Jay, NY and is not far from several popular local destinations. Whiteface Mountain, the “greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies” is a short drive away. Lake Placid isn’t much farther and has great shopping and dining in addition to all of the Olympic history from hosting twice, including in 1980 for the Miracle on Ice victory. The property is also centrally located between Santa’s Workshop, the Covered Bridge in Jay, High Falls Gorge, Ausable Chasm & Mt. Von Hoevenberg.The main floor consists of a well-stocked kitchen (pots, pans, silverware, cooking utensils, drinking glasses, plates, mugs, wine glasses, bakeware, etc.) with a dishwasher and a brand new fridge, an open living room with a 70-inch 4K TV (please note the wood stove isn't functioning), a sunroom with a small dinette as well as some rocking chairs and a small sofa, a king bedroom with a TV and a full bathroom. The 2nd floor was completely remodeled this year with brand new flooring in both bedrooms (queen bed with a TV in the first and a queen over queen bunk in the second) along with a fully remodeled bathroom with a massive walk-in shower and jack & jill sinks. Please note, the wood burning stove cannot be operated as multiple chimney sweeps indicated it would be a fire hazard to use until considerable repairs are made. As we are a member of the Ausable Acres Property Owner's Association, you will have access to cross-country skiing/snowshoeing trails right within the neighborhood. The spaceMountain Home is a newly built (2023), handcrafted log home on a forested 1-acre lot in the beautiful, forested, quiet, sub-division of Ausable Acres. It is a ranch-style home with a cathedral-ceiling great room that comprises a full kitchen and living area. A master bedroom (queen bed) plus two full bathrooms complete the ground level dwelling. There is a down-stairs living area that is comprised of a large bed-room that hosts a queen size bed, a futon (pull out full size bed) and an amish made rocker. Stairs leading to the downstairs bed-room/living area are complete with log rails & log gate for safety. Mountain Home has a covered porch with comfortable Adirondack Chairs plus an open deck to relax outdoors. There is an outdoor grill (bring your own charcoal) and fire pit (please keep fires small and contained). An outdoor hose is available. Soft sandy ground easily tracks through the home so please, we ask that you remove your shoes upon entering. Water is safe to drink. Septic system on property can handle toilet paper only. The Mountain Home is cleaned with all natural cleaners by (PUR Evergreen) products, Milliken, Co. Ausable Acres is a quiet neighborhood. Evening quiet hours are in place from 10pm to 7am. . As such, we have the expectation that our guests will honor the peace & quiet of the surrounding area.
