We are a cozy studio in a unique setting. There is a babbling brook that runs through the property to the ocean. This was a granite-quarrying site many years ago, and the property retains the remnants of a granite road used by ox carts to move granite blocks to the schooners. There is wild life on occasion, we recently had a great blue heron for several days. Lay at the beach or dip in the ocean at Cressy or Half Moon beach. Or walk up the hill out the front door to hike at the 60 acre nature preserve, Ravenswood Park. Bikes, paddle boards, surfboards and kayaks are all available at local rental locations. Gloucester Stage company has live plays or the beautiful Shaolin music center has concerts. Gloucester's downtown has plenty of one of a kind shops and a grand variety of restaurants, cafes and dessert locations. Rainy day - no problem! You can visit the Hammond Castle – just a short drive to see this fascinating building and artifacts. Or visit the Cape Ann Museum with artifacts from the Revolutionary War, beautiful paintings and sculptures new and old. Go antique shopping in Essex or go to the movies at our local theater.
