You are nestled in the heart of the PA Wilds, surrounded by State Parks and Forests. With miles of hiking, and biking trails to explore. Along the Driftwood Branch of the Sinnemahoning River you will be able to enjoy, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing in some of the best trophy trout waters in the state. Depending on what time of year you are staying at the house; there are nesting birds (we have a returning mourning dove on the deck). We have seen pileated wood peckers fledge from the old tree by the river along the path to the best place to launch your kayak/canoe. That “old tree” looks dead, but is full of life and home to many of our woodland neighbors. It is not unusual to see a Bald Eagle, Osprey or other bird perched on top waiting to fish the river. Deer and the occassional Elk like to pass thru the expansive back yard as well. The kitchen is well equipped; you should find what you may need to prepare meals. You can enjoy a propane fireplace in the living room, or build you own fire in the fire pit on the patio out back by the pond. Not only are you in the heart of the PA Wilds but you are also located in the Dark Skies viewing area. Lean back and enjoy the view in from the yard or visit near-by stargazing sites in the area.We encourage guests to explore the area as there are so many things to keep everyone interested. History buffs will recognize the Bucktail Trail from the Civil War Era. The area is rich in American and Pennsylvania History. The Cameron County Historical Society is close by located in a depression-era schoolhouse and full of fascinating collections.Mountain bike at dawn, hike or bike a nearby trail in the afternoon or float the river in a Kayak and cast a rod to try your luck at fishing, then pull up a chair for star gazing at night. 「Beautiful inside and out! Excellent value for the price. The accommodations were comfortable, clean and beautiful. The owners were very friendly, interesting and attentive. The breakfast was amazingly delicious - a treat! We're sorry we missed out on asking for dinner the night we arrived, we just were not sure when we would arrive or we would have taken advantage of the meal they offered. We got there in time to take in the aromas - heavenly! The HyGrade was a breathe of fresh air. We highly recommend a stay here.」
