We are here at the moment, a family of 4, with an 11 year old boy and a 17 year old daughter. We nearly changed hotels due to the bad reviews on here. I so wished we'd have trusted the reviews..... I'll start with the good points (won't take long). The boulangerie (it's technically a patisserie but I won't be pedantic) is excellent. The cakes are amazing. If you get the right chef in Momo Teppenyaki you'll have a good night. The buffet is decent, well cooked and a varied selection. The cleaning staff are brilliant and are the only staff that acknowledge and smile at you. The hotel and grounds are nice. The rest of it..... Far and away the worst part of the resort is the service. From bar tenders to waiting staff they range from being abrupt to just rude. I have been to other resorts where all staff smile and say hello when they walk past. The staff here just ignore you. They act like they hate their jobs and the guests. I'm now refusing to tip staff that don't smile. It's such a basic courtesy and makes all the difference to the experience of the guests. The breakfast waiting staff serve you coffee and dissappear. Don't expect a refill or your plates cleared away. It's rained A LOT since we've been here so you think the entertainment team or the staff would make some effort to cheer the guests up, maybe put on some entertainment. Nope. Nothing. I've seen other reviews saying that the staff were poor because they were overworked. Half the staff here are just standing around doing nothing - not my definition of overworked. There is absolutely nothing for teenagers to do here. The wave rider is completely dismantled with no estimated repair time. They don't make that common knowledge so there are a lot of dissapointed kids. At least 50% of the arcade machines are broken or in disrepair. For 2 nights of the holiday there has been music until 3am, with the bass so loud we could actually feel it on the 12th floor through our beds! I saw 2 kids breaking down the inflatable ball court in the pool, a member of the entertainment staff walked past so I pointed it out. He just shrugged and walked on. The staff here really, really do not care. Barring the teppenyaki, the speciality restaurants are very poor. The food is mediocre and over salted. One night it was torrential rain and the restaurant we booked (the Indian) was outside. We we told we still had to attend the restaurant or we'd be charged a cancellation fee! The rooms are shoe boxes. So small. I knew this may be the case before we came but was still surprised at the size. The beach is very stoney. You need pool shoes. Constant pressure from sales reps to become a member - hahahaha really? Semi private transfer is a coach with all the other guests. And no water unless you want to buy it from the airport for 7 dollars a bottle. Every single guest I've spoken to, with no exaggeration I do mean every single guest, is unhappy with the resort. If the weather was better
🌟⭐ One star review ⭐🌟 This hotel was an absolute nightmare! 😡 I arrived before my partner, so I decided to check us in but apparently they had no records of my reservation. They had the audacity to question my payment, even after I showed them the confirmation and explained about my discount I got from ******* because of my points. The check-in staff were incredibly rude, making snide remarks the whole time. They claimed there was only one room left and had the hotel porter escorts me to the room, who was also rude passing smart remarks stating that it would have been better if I hadn't shown up at all after I stated that I would just be staying only for a day. I just brushed it off. The room was a disaster - no lights in the bedroom, bugs on the floor and nails clippings on the table. There wasn’t a remote for the AC in the room when I got there. To be honest the room wasn’t that hot it was bearable for me but being that I wasn’t the only one staying there I know my partner want it to be adjusted. Anyway I started getting ready for my date night, partner picks me up and we went to dinner. On our way back I informed him about the AC and told him that I’ll ask about the remote. Got back to the hotel, went to the front desk to ask for the remote, the same person that showed me to the room was the only person there. He started getting loud and my partner at this point had to step in and ask him if this his how he talks to people. His response was “we are all Jamaican”. I had to tell my partner to let it go, it’s ok. The hotel porter then stated that there’s no remote for the AC. Save yourself the headache, honestly I would not recommend this hotel. ******************************* Yeah, I get why people might wonder why we stayed despite all the issues. The thing is, we were in a different parish, miles away from home, and every other hotel was completely booked. It was a desperate situation, and we had nowhere else to go for the night. So, cleaned up the nail clippings and bugs( this was after I settled in the room). It was far from ideal, but we made the best of a bad situation.
I love that they have a playground for the kids...the room was comfortable; breakfast was good, staff was friendly, pay one night and had to book , the area is close to the main so easy access to transportation will be back soon
