「Good location , room was ok but view was on rubbish bins and on last night bins was empty at 3:30am what you could no sleep Maybe I give try again stay at this hotel but not sure . Breakfast not great」
Mmi21I can understand the lack of amenities in the hotel for example no kettle, coffee or tea bags in the room, no toilet for customers who are waiting but not for the receptionist. Whenever I have a business meeting with my bf in Newcastle, he always books this one as the location is perfect but for several of time I have the same problem and unpleasantness with the receptionist. Her name is Shahib or something starts with Sha I can't see clearly.
But when the first we step in, no welcoming, just a rude attitude look at me, I come over and ask kindly hi we came for checking in (it 12:00pm at that time), she says ok and ask do you have booking early I said no, then she stop talking look at me was like ok if you don't book check in early then why you here bother me, and I have to say ok so it 3pm, I understand. She can even say checking in at 3 so you will have to wait.
Then we sit there and wait, she and her coworkers are laughing, talking loudly. Then I am not happy, my bf goes inside and asks to cancel the booking, she says ok if you cancel you still get charged, my bf was upset. Then I ask very gently Do we have the toilet for customers here while we wait, she just says no and that it. After that she let us check in early again with the boss and owning the whole Newcastle attitude.
Then I was not about to take it personal and put on review but the day we checked out, I took the key, politely went to the receptionist and said ”Hi, I would like to...” She doesn't even look at me or let me complete the word she looks in her phone saying thank you out loud just to get me to put the key and go quick. I stayed in this hotel 5 times and exactly 5 times felt unpleasant with customer service here. This hotel is fine, but the most simple thing for the hotel business and the most priorities is customer experience but you do not do well which made some of my trip uncomfortable. I am nobody to judge how is anyone's attitude but at least done the work as it should be. Other than that hotel was clean, tidy and the bed was really comfy.
TThe mighty BantamWe had booked a junior suite. On arrival we were greeted warmly and efficiently checked in. We were given our key and told we were in room 118. We were told that we had to go up one floor in the lift and then backdown the stairs as our room was in between floors. It was the only room at that level. Had I have known that I wouldn’t have booked it as I was travelling with my mum who is post surgery with a new hip, and stairs and luggage were a bit of a challenge. Anyway, once inside our suite was perfect. It consisted of a living/dining/kitchen room with a sofa, TV and pretty much a full kitchen, I.e Hob, fridge with an ice box, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom was made to feel a little small as the bed was absolutely huge, it also had a TV in there too. The bathroom was quite standard but spotlessly clean. The only gripe I had was there was only one electric heater and that was in the bedroom, so if you were cold I had to go into the bedroom. Would I stay there again…..yes but perhaps in a room that didn’t need to climb stairs.
