Ty Beic is two, one bedroom holiday cottages perched on a hill above the tiny hamlet of Sarnau, near Bala, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. These two restored stone barns are a magical place to stay all year round providing a perfect base for exploring North Wales.The Barn is a one bedroom detached cottage with exposed beams and stone walls and magnificent views of the Berwyn Mountains. It is furnished to a very high standard with a certain offbeat charm.The character of the original farm buildings has been retained with exposed beams and stone walls but with the technology to keep you snug in the winter and cool in the summer. The underfloor heating, thick stone walls and double glazed oak windows keep the cottages warm through the coldest winter – making them enticing places to which to return after a day in the wild outdoors.The living area has a comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs, TV with Netflix, DVD/Blueray player and music system with DAB radio and bluetooth. The kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, toaster, fridge and a full range of cooking utensils.The bedroom has a superking bed or two singles, depending on your requirements. The area is also superb for road cycling, with quiet country roads, beautiful scenery, epic climbs and exhilarating descents on the doorstep.Snowdon is a pleasant and scenic 40 minute drive away. Aran, the highest British mountain south of Snowdon, is a 15 minute drive and Cadair Idris about 30 minutes. Away from the honey pots of Snowdonia, there are also spectacular walks in the Berwyn mountain range.Bala is also a famous for its water sports. The world renowned National White Water Centre is in Frongoch, Bala. Bala Adventure and Water Sports Centre and Bala Sailing Club are both based on Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid).
