First our reservation was mixed up; by phone I was told a jr king suite, which would’ve fit our family, unfortunately when we arrived it was a deluxe executive, which did not fit our whole family... partially my fault as I did not check the confirmation email...the solution; upgrade to an executive king suite with an adjoining double queen suite...very nice rooms, comfortable beds... for an extra $200. They gave us a 10% discount for the inconvenience. (I do appreciate the staff trying to work with us, they were mostly friendly and trying to accommodate the situation) To top this off, the throw pillow on the couch looked like someone threw up close to it and splattered it, there was toothbrush splatter on the mirror and counter behind the taps. Lastly, the pool area was nice, water temperature was very good, however the shower at the pool area was gross. Hair everywhere, shampoo/conditioner down the walls and caked and dried on, so it had definitely been there a while. We determined they have let maintenance and housekeeping sit at a minimum to pocket more profit... we will source out another hotel next time we visit GP.
JJason GMaybe it gets 3 stars but clearly these hotels are ‘gaming’ the system to get review numbers this high. So here’s the problem with this hotel: 1. Instead of just giving you a Wifi name and password, they want you to fill out a form that collects all your email and contact information for them to use for themselves and Spammers (as if we need more of that!), If you want ‘high speed’ internet so you can stream your Netflix or other streaming service that is EXTRA. 2. NO MICROWAVE in the suite. Go home with a doggy bag from the restaurant and want to heat it up in the morning… NOPE!, 3. Breakfast is free but very basic. 2nd day had ham as the ONLY meat available. No bacon, no sausage, 4. Staff are polite but not friendly. The hotel does do what it’s supposed to do though. There is a small pool with a basic slide for the kids, rooms were clean, an exercise room with treadmills, elliptical, a few weights, and a multi gym was there.
Motel is old, but rooms are big, and clean, staff are helpful and friendly. Stayed two nights here in GP and slept well...for the price, can't beat it. The continental is pretty basic, but again, budget stay so you are getting what you pay for.
DDom JongExcellent value for the money if you're looking for a budget place to stay. The bed was very comfortable, the tv & cable worked (believe it or not, in some places, it doesn't, but not at this place), it had a stove, kitchen section, fridge and microwave in my room. The location is excellent because McDonalds & Tim Hortons is next door. They also let me check in about 2 hours earlier (make sure you ask first). Overall, a great place to stay for the money you pay. I'll be back here in the future!
Avoid Parkside Inn 10437 100 Ave if you can. It charges way more money and offers way less when compared to this place.
