This tiny home features everything you would need for a weekend stay! Tucked in the woods on our property , hiking all around, and 30 min from Penn State University. Main floor bedroom,full bathroom, full kitchen, and fire pit outside! Our tiny home has beautiful exposed wood mortise and tenon beams which makes it cozy and warm! We are surrounded by many beautiful fishing spots, hunting areas, and hiking. Only a 40 min drive to Raystown Lake.We live on the property with our 4 children and two dogs. Enjoy this cozy, air conditioned cottage 3/10ths of a mile from Lake Raystown. The house is new construction on a wooded 2.5 acres in a quiet neighborhood. Walk the path* to the lake with kayaks or paddle boards, your fishing poles, or just a beach towel and a good book. Bask in the peace and quiet of an evening spent on the deck overlooking the woods. Have fun exploring the woods and building forts, then enjoy roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. Drive ten minutes to the Allegrippas trail head to mountain bike or to Seven Points Marina to boat or go to the beach. It’s also only ten minutes to downtown Huntingdon and ten minutes to Snyder’s Run public boat launch. This family friendly cottage features an open floor plan kitchen, dining and living room. The kitchen is well appointed for those who like to cook, with bar seating for 2 and a table that expands to seat 8. There is a desk in the living room in case you need to work remotely and wifi to keep you connected. It sleeps 8, with 3 small but charming bedrooms, 2 with queen beds and one with twin bunk beds, and a queen pull out couch in the living room. There is a washer/dryer for your convenience. Laundry detergent is provided. When you need a break from swimming, fishing, and exploring, there are plenty of books, puzzles, and board games for all ages, as well as a smart TV, DVD player, and DVDs for all ages.*Please note the path comes off the end of the road, where there is a cul-de-sac for parking. The path is maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers. Due to the way Raystown Lake was created, the path to the lake is downhill, which means of course that the way back is uphill, and it is relatively steep at parts. This can be difficult for some people. If you would like easy access for kayaking, you can drive up and drop your kayak right on the beach at the Snyders Run Boat Launch, ~10 min away. The beach at Seven Points is free with free parking and offers more level entry for swimming, about 10 min in the other direction.Sheets are NOT provided. A kitchen towel and dish cloth are provided, but other towels are NOT. We do provide mattress pads, pillows, quilts. Luxury Brooklinen bedding is found on all of the custom-made beds. There are two suites--the spacious Master Suite (which has its own bathroom) and the Loft Suite (which has a large sitting area). There is new LED lighting throughout. We've built a Laundry Room, with a large-capacity washer and dryer. The home gym includes mirrored walls, a treadmill, exercise bike, and weights.Each bedroom on the main level (as well as the Loft Suite) has its own 50" wall-mounted flat-screen TV. Additional wall-mounted flat screen TVs can be found in the Great Room (65"), the Bar/Music Room (70"), the Game Room (58") and the Home Gym (43").Everything in the gourmet kitchen (including all the appliances) is brand new. We've created a coffee bar with a coffee grinder, a drip coffee maker, an espresso machine and a Keurig. The centerpiece of the lodge is the handcrafted 10' x 4' dining table with a live -edge top made from figured sugar-maple. But that's not all! The Flying Squirrel Lodge is an artisan's paradise--along with the dining table, we have over 30 handcrafted pieces of furniture (most made by host, Dan Berg) and 20 handcrafted chairs. The walls of the lodge are adorned with original artwork by artist, Amy Schade as well as numerous landscape and nature photographs taken by your hosts, Dan and Heidi Berg. The Bar/Music Room boasts a new Rockola Jukebox. Play one of our pre-made playlists or create your own from the thousands of songs to choose from. Have a sing along or dance the night away!
