The winds from the S to NNE are ideal for kiting and windsurfing on the Sound side. While it is possible to kiteboard on the inside of the bridge area, you will likely want to access the water west of the bridge. As winds go NE to SE, you can launch directly across the street on the Ocean side. The house includes a ground floor enclosed ‘man cave’ plus a storage room for equipment. There are equipment racks outside for drying and inside to lock up at night. A half bath and two showers are outside under the house, in addition to a cleaning station with a utility sink and hose. We can clean up our gear so that it is ready the next day. Rigging, launching, and storing your gear is a breeze at the Frequent Flyer. The ‘man cave’ also has a small bar, and a fridge which adds to the convenience factor. This house really caters to those who want access to the Sound and Ocean for watersports. When the wind is not blowing, the Frequent Flyer still delivers with 6 bikes for cruising the island, 3 kayaks, and 2 stand up paddleboards. And of course, no trip to Hatteras Island is complete without a visit to the local surf shops. Fortunately, Real Watersports, Kitty Hawk Kites, and other shops are all within a few miles.The Frequent Flyer from a Fishing PerspectiveWhy settle for the Ocean or Sound when you can have them both! The Frequent Flyer is located on a very narrow segment of the island providing access to both Ocean and Sound fishing. If your target is inlet fishing, “Oregon Inlet” and the “New New Inlet” are just north of the Frequent Flyer. Convenient storage areas make unloading and storing your gear simple. A deluxe, outdoor fish-cleaning table makes prep a breeze. Bring your casting net as bait can easily be caught along the shore of the Sound. If you prefer to buy bait or need to update your fishing gear, several bait and tackle shops are just down the street including, Hatteras Jack.Offshore Fishing Charters are available from nearby Oregon Inlet or head south to the Hatteras Inlet. A mile mile south of the Rodanthe fishing pier. 4 bedrooms and three baths with a swimming pool and Hot tub and 2 outdoor showers Nice views of ocean and easy walk to beach Pet friendly house and beach...There are two bedrooms and one bath on the second level next to the kitchen and dining room. Then there are two bedrooms and one bath on the top floor next to the great room. The fourth floor is a loft with a futon and 2 twin beds. Large 16x34 foot SWIMMING POOL, close proximity to the beach, (our own private path see the PHOTOS), the killer hot tub with ocean views, and the Dairy Queen for after dinner ice cream just a bike ride or skateboard or stroll up the street. It is a comfortable Oceanfront house with nothing between you and the ocean except sand. The pool area is spacious and well lit at night for grilling and swimming after dark.4 bedrooms ( plus 'pool room', which really is a 5th bedroom) and 3 baths with an outdoor shower. It is only a short walk over magnificent dunes to the water's edge. YOU CAN'T GET ANY CLOSER TO THE BEACH THAN THIS HOUSE, IT IS OCEANFRONT.(We are always getting questions, 'is it on the ocean?' Yes!!) There is also a screened-in porch off the kitchen that looks out over the pool, a south facing third floor sundeck with a hot tub and epic views of the Atlantic, and a fireplace on the third floor for the cooler spring and fall nights. On the ground floor off the pool deck, the pool room has its own bath, a single bed, TV and a sleeper sofa. During the day this room is a play room and an exercise area with free weights and at night this can serve as a fifth bedroom, with its own bathroom and a nice view of the pool. The house features pillowtop mattresses and feather pillows so we can listen to the sound of the ocean from comfortable beds. With the four bedrooms and the pool room serving as a bedroom, the house can sleep12 in beds. There are excellent views of the ocean from just about anywhere on the second and third floors and loft, from inside or out on the decks. You can see the ocean while lounging in the 3rd floor deck hot tub.
