Brilliant place to stay for mountain bikers, warm shower and comfy bed with a top breakfast included. Evening meals are fantastic as well.

An extremely disappointing meal. Steak Frites and Peppercorn Sauce with Fries £14.95. Four pieces of indeterminable meat (steak apparently) each slice the size of a man's index finger, a tiny pot of sauce that was merely brown water and bore no relation to peppercorns whatsoever and a small cage of frozen chips fried in cheap oil. No veg, no salad or dressings at all. Something like prison food I imagine.

Hotel was good, meals and breakfast were great! Room small and cold needs a little bit of TLC I would like to thank all the staff and chefs for their hospitality and service it was fantastic! The staff are the reason people return as a team they were outstanding nothing was too much trouble

Traditional hotel set in a lovely village and handily located next to a micro brewery, what’s not to like. Very well appointed family room with en-suite, coffee etc. Secure storage for bikes. Great staff. Food very nice. Great value for money.

I can’t recommend the Traquair Arms highly enough, from the first moment that I walked into the reception the attention to detail and service was first class, all the staff were really helpful and the service was spot on, and the owner David, could not of done more to make me feel welcome and share his knowledge of the area which was really helpful. I will defiantly be going back when in the area.

3x blokes, road cycling trip across Scotland. September 2023. Fantastic hotel, and exceptionally good value. Location is brilliant, lovely ride in along the marked Scottish C2C route, the hotel is right on the route so no detours. Staff excellent and friendly from start-to-finish. Checked our 3 bikes into the self-service secure storage. Enjoyed a great (well earned) 3 course dinner in the hotel restaurant, which had a great atmosphere and as mentioned, lovely staff. (There is also a great brewery tap next door if you fancy a change of scenery - we didn't manage to get further than that in the village!) Breakfast served early, first-class traditional Scottish - but plenty of other options. Unlimited coffee and juice, we were really happy. Rooms are good for the price, simple "pub with rooms" style, remember. Everything needed for a stay of this type. It was very hot, but I still slept well. Highly recommended, we'd stay at Traquair Arms again without hesitation.

So disappointing, no rooms in main hotel building so we stayed 2 nights in outbuildings at rear of hotel. Accommodation was filthy. Especially the kitchen area. Kitchen floor covered in dried mud. Hob and cupboards disgusting. Beds/bedding were ok…. Towels clean. Mentioned these problems to reception on two occasions but nothing done. Bar/drinks ok…. Quite expensive. Bar food overpriced. All public areas of this ‘hotel’ would benefit from a deep clean, especially window ledges and floors. There is potential here but an effort must be made with presentation and cleanliness. An expensive couple of nights. Not value for money.

Room was cold when checked in, couldn't turn radiator on, was told that it was on a timer. Room not hoovered. Bathroom extractor fan and heater not working. Shower tray not draining properly to the point of overflowing. Factory stickers still on shower door. Good food for evening meal and breakfast.
