I stumbled across this place while I was out on business as I was looking for somewhere intimate quiet with nice views. I can honestly say this place provided me with everything I was looking for. The room/bed was very comfortable, breakfast was delicious catering for all your dietary needs. Also, the staff were absolutely amazing and there was nothing they wouldn’t do to make sure your stay was as comfortable as possible. Highly recommended.

My room was so comfortable and had the most Beautiful mountain views. The staff were phenomenal, and super helpful and welcoming. They serve fresh and delicious breakfast.I’ll definitely be back and can recommend staying at The Salt House.

We had a lovely 2-night stay at The Salt House. Clear instructions re check-in and a friendly greeting from Banda on arrival. We arrived early and our room was ready and available. Room 1 is on the ground floor at the end of the building with easy access around the side of the property to the car. The room is simply furnished but has everything required, fridge, ceiling fan, blackout curtains, lovely shower, tea and coffee, even milk in the fridge. We spent the afternoon sat by the pool which was very peaceful. The Guest House is a little too far to walk but only a few minutes drive to the shops/restaurants. Breakfast consisted of choices, fruit juice, tea/coffee, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, bread/toast, cooked breakfast. The boys in the kitchen did a great job. The Guest House is off a main road so very little traffic noise. Recommend a sun-downer at The Chapmans Peak hotel, and fish and chips at Snoekies. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area. Hout Bay est, selon moi, la localité la mieux placée pour découvrir toutes les beautés et tous les incontournables du Cap : Table Mountain, Waterfront, Robben Island, la vieille ville du Cap, les premières colonies (Stellenbosch et Franschhoek) et le vignoble, le Parc National de la péninsule du Cap de Bonne Espérance et la fabuleuse route côtière de "Chaman’s Peak Drive”. Le Guesthouse ”Salt House” est dans un quartier tranquille, le personnel est sympa (y compris la patronne, Bianca, qui a un air de ressemblance avec Audrey Tautou), les chambres sont grandes, ont du style et sont confortables (dont de bonnes literies). Enfin, le petit-déjeuner est varié (produits sucrés et salés, omelette ou oeufs brouillés sont faits ”minute”).

Room was very basic and the furniture could use an upgrade but it was very clean and comfortable. The staff really made the stay so much better with their friendliness and helpfulness! The omlette at breakfast was the best i have had in a while!
