Think I will start with the ugly.we arrived and said “hi we are just checking in”to then be told sorry but we have no room at the inn .we said we are booked for 3 days and I can show you the email confirmation.quickly a group of bar staff gathered and were deep in discussion.the outcome was they would contact the manageress and ask her to come along and sort out the details.she arrived 10 minutes later (the most miserable person I have ever met).walked straight passed us and proceeded to her laptop.Sorry but we do not have any availability and I’m not sure what I can do she uttered.someone else has took your room so I’m not sure what I can do.she studied her laptop and then said I can give you an upgrade to one of our pods in the rear of the property but only for 2 days…how can one day less be an upgrade!!!.back to the laptop after we refused a day less on our break.she then decided she could then give us the pod for 3 days,probably to the disappointment to the next guests.that’s the ugly. Followed by the bad …we entered our pod and found no toiletries at all.return to the reception…we were booked into the inn and were informed toiletries would be provided.could we please have some toiletries please “no you can’t what do you expect for the price you paid “WOW…(that was the manageresses daughter)unbelievable. The good,the pod was really good,well decorated and came with kitchen and sofa(Tv didn’t work very well).we were very comfortable with our residence for 3 days.would like to mention how supportive Becks the waitress was with our initial issues and apologised for how we were treated.will we be returning….NO CHANCE

I tried to book this hotel through wowcher before I booked I phoned to ask if they took dogs I was informed they did so booked the voucher went back a to book room and was informed they did not take dogs the girl was very pleasant and I accept mistakes can happen.The girl said she would get a manager to phone me back in the morning I had no call by 12 so called twice and eventually got reply from a very rude lady who answer was we do not take dogs you will have to go back woucher no help to try to resolve problem also told me that the hotels website said no dogs again wrong . I am glad I did not stay because if there hotel is as good as there admin it will be awful.Now left with woucher voucher and no where to stay thanks alot

Fantastic hotel. Chalet style room was very comfortable and quiet. Hotel staff were all very friendly and the food was absolutely first class and amongst the best we have had on our travels. Would certainly recommend and we will return.

The chalet was very clean facilities excellent beds comfy and clean. The food at the pub was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

First time stayed here very impressed food was good staff friendly nice accommodation would recommend this place located in nice village if you want use buses very limited really need own transport if you want visit York good park ride service

What a lovely place, from entering to leaving we loved it. The staff were fabulous, everyone of them cannot do enough, so helpful and friendly. The chalet room was great, only draw back, bathroom a tad small, but adequate. No toiletries, note to self in future pack some for every trip just incase!!! but it didn't spoil our trip, we just bought some at a near by shop problem solved!! The breakfast was excellent on both mornings. Ate in the pub both nights, brilliant, so much choice, fresh made delicious. We will be back.
