Dao Tien Homestay

WARNING!! I stayed for four weeks at Dao Tien Homestay in 2019 and again for four weeks in 2022. For both stays the owners were excellent and even invited me for some meals with them. I had no reservation in booking four weeks this year. Foolishly I absolutely trusted the owners and at one time I took out some money from where i keep it locked when her husband was in my room. I carry holiday spending money in my suitcase which I have always done. Towards the end of my stay I found a substantial amount of money had been stolen from my suitcase and I reported it to the owner. She refused to accept I had been robbed in her homestay and claimed I had spent the money or lost it. She said the CCTV showed only three people had been in my room, the cleaner, her and her husband. She said neither her nor the cleaner had stolen my money. I insisted on reporting it to the police. She offered to take me to the police and I foolishly accepted. At the police station I gave my verbal and written statement on how much money in  UK £50 notes and US $50 notes I knew I had when I arrived at the homestay and how much was stolen. She translated it for the police. Now she claims I kept changing my "story" and told lies. She told me the police report agrees with her completely. I have asked for a copy of the police report with no success. If you choose to stay at Dao Tien keep your money and valuables secure. If you have had money stolen there please post the incident here no matter how long ago. She appeared very confident and well rehe****d which made me think my theft was not the first time and I believe will not be the last time. I have posted this after leaving Vietnam as i have had verbal and written threats from her. It is bad enough having such a lot of money stolen, obviously I do not want further problems.

I stayed for a month in Dao Tien Homestay, Hoi An and it was wonderful. My air conditioned room was large with an en suite wet room/bathroom. The bed was an extra large double and very comfortable. It was very quiet. Situated on Tran Cao Van it is within easy walking distance to the most amazingly breathtaking and stunningly beautiful, World Heritage Site, Ancient Town with all it has to offer. I was able to borrow a bicycle to explore the area and ride the short distance to An Bang beach for swimming and relaxing in the sunshine. Close to excellent restaurants and shopping Dao Tien Homestay is ideally situated for a perfect holiday.
