One of the best Marriott resort vacations we have experienced. We are Marriott time share owners and can't say enough about how great this stay was. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. We had a three bedroom, three bathroom unit. The 5100 building was perfect, close to the beach walk and pool with bike shop right underneath. The bikes rental on property was a huge plus. We were able to rent for the week and we rode everyday all through Hilton Head which is my favorite feature of this island--the bike friendly trails. The unit was clean, comfortable and spacious. One day we rented a cabana--not cheap but fun for a day-- since we were entertaining guests who stayed with us in the 3rd bedroom. The cabanas have couches and tables so you can eat there comfortably right alongside the pool. The pool bar is convenient with "ok" food for lunch. The service was one of the best things about this Marriott. Everyone we encountered was polite and extremely helpful and accommodating. A special shout out to Rosa at the front desk, Michael in the bike shop and AUSTIN who came to rescue us on the bike path when my cousin got her jacket stuck in the bike chain. He came out to meet us with a new bike and a wrench!!! Also Cara in the sales office was awesome and informative yet we did not feel too much pressure to sit in on a presentation so we are thinking about it for our next trip. I highly recommend this property for families with small children as well as adult only vacations.

The grounds are gorgeous and well taken care of. It is a beach resort and therefore right on the beach. However, depending on which building you’re in it can be a pretty long walk. It’s a very nice walk over a boardwalk I’m sure designed to run above protected land so we didn’t use them but there are golf cart type of shuttles going back and forth for those with the need. The pools are well located, we preferred the one closest to the beach. This is a family resort. There tended to be fewer small kids at this pool than at the main pool. This ocean side pool was where the resorts only restaurant was located. The pool bar, Sea Salts, offered great drinks and good food. It was your standard bar type menu. Our room was fantastic, clean and well appointed. There’s no maid service unless requested. The beds were relatively comfortable but the pillows were less than desirable. The staff we encountered were all friendly and eager to help. Overall a great stay.

Beautiful MVC resort! Right in the beach with golf carts that they use as mini busses to take you around the resort. Just give them a call and they’ll pick you up. The activities were excellent as were the pools. A well maintained resort. We will return.

I have been a Marriott destination club member for over a decade and have gone to this resort probably 4 times in the last 10 years on this recent stay our rooms were dirty, poor cleaning with trash and dirt under beds and furniture, the room furnishings were worn. We experienced overflowning public area trash bins over a three day weekend that were not emptied, hotel staff parking their work carts in handicap parking which caused guests needing them to be displaced, so overall I was not happy with this recent stay and will not go back for a while. Marriott seems to be more concerned with trying to sell us more vacation products as they continually bothered us during this vacation week than maintaining standards in their resorts.

The property at Surf Watch is beautiful - lots of trees, a marshland view, lovely accommodations and helpful staff. The pool where we chose to sit ( the smaller one) was wonderful- seating was easy to get and a lot of umbrellas and seats with shade tops. The other larger pool was quite a walk away (although there were golf carts to give you a ride). My only complaint was that at the smaller pool the only foods available were blended (virgin drinks were also available) and chips. If you wanted anything else you had to walk to the other pool, which was crowded (hard to find a table) and the lines were long. Other than this one disappointment the resort is top notch!

Front desk staff, particularly Rosa was extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent facility and activities. Clean and well kept. From the security at the front gate, front desk, housekeeping maintenance emgi to the golf cart crew. Everyone was friendly and professional. We highly recommend.
