幸運象飯店

De kamers zijn basic, maar ruim en schoon. De bedden ietwat hard, maar heb hier toch heerlijk geslapen. Het ontbijt is beperkt. Het zwembad groot en schoon en binnen 10 meter lig je in de Indische Oceaan. Restaurant heeft grote keus en alles is lekker vers. Je kunt een paar kilometer langs het strand wandelen richting Hikkaduwa. Personeel is vriendelijk.

Unfortunately only stopped here for one night at the end of our tour of Sri Lanka. We were working our way back to the airport. Arrived unannounced and early. No problem welcome drink and a short sit on the beach whilst our room was prepared. Only waited 30 minutes but were then told we had been upgraded to the suite. What a fabulous room. Beach area fantastic. Decided to eat in as the staff had been so nice. Superb meal and service. Left early the next morning armed with a take away breakfast. Do not be put off by the average looking front of building - all of the hotels looked a bit like this, once inside and the beach facing area were all excellent.

Amazing hotel. Stopped here for one night as we travelled south for a wedding. Hotel was gorgeous! Rooms amazing, view was incredible. Breakfast had plenty of choice! Would love to stay here again if we visit Sri Lanka! Beach and pool both lovely and all staff really friendly. Restaurant manager was great and chatted to us! 10/10

We stayed in room 208 which i strongly recommend if it is available. The views are spectacular and the size of the room is fantastic. The bathroom and especially the shower are lovely including blinds so you can look out at the sea whilst in the bathroom. Whilst we didn’t use it, the minibar prices were very reasonable which i think shows what the hotel is about. The pool was a lovely size for swimming and the complimentary towels were a nice touch. Breakfast had a mix of Sri Lankan and western foods including an egg station with egg hoppers, omelettes etc. The only downside which is a preference thing is there is a lot of staff hanging around but it is sometimes a bit too much. I am glad they are employing local staff but it is always nice to feel like you are on your own and help is around if you need it rather than feeling like you are always surrounded. Drink prices at the bar were a bit high in comparison to other hotels we had stayed in so take a wander out as there are some fantastic restaurants and bars around. If we ever come back to this area of Sri Lanka we will be staying in Room 208 of the Lucky Elephant Hotel.

Check in was swift and staff were polite, room was very clean and was tidied every day, housekeeping was exceptional happy to give us extra coffee on request and made cute designs with towels. I find the thing that lets the hotel down is the catering the manager from that area is over familiar and overbearing at times and hovers over you while you are eating the breakfast was pretty average however my husband gave the curry Dahl 10/10 on our last day at the hotel we went for breakfast around 9 which was late for us there was still food there however most of it was cold. When we were leaving the lifts were out of service and my husband had carry both our cases down 4 flights of stairs. I also thought it was poor that there are reserved signs on the best sun bed position and lay empty all day. I would just have expected a bit more considering it’s rated 4 star

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Lucky Elephant and feel like we were the "Lucky" ones. In our opinion its a good hotel in a great position with excellent staff. Everyone made us feel welcome and at ease and the service from all was outstanding, we have stayed at better hotels around the world but not one with better people looking after us. Tyrone and his team in the restaurant were attentive, friendly and helpful without being intrusive, a credit to his leadership, the kitchen staff produce a good variety of different dishes all with great flavour and presentation (Really good Sri Lankan Curry) The Masseuse really is top quality The sun lounger and towels guys along with the room service people work hard to keep the place clean and tidy throughout Duminda the hotel driver and the reception staff also deserve a mention for their helpfulness All in all a great experience for us
