I should start by saying I did not stay here, but as part of a group of 10 staying in a villa in nearby Klinci, we found ourselves in the beautiful village of Rose a lot as it has the only shop for miles. Whilst exploring we found this hotel and made use of its facilities. Firstly, we rented sun loungers on the beautiful beach (it has a number, I’m not sure what number!) which has a 100m stretch with umbrellas, loungers and drink service (no food - this is the only thing that would have made it better). The beach is shingle so water shoes are recommended, especially since one of our group stepped on a sea urchin… ouch! We also asked the reception about boat tours. Rose is absolutely beautiful and located at the mouth of Kotor Bay, but unlike any of the larger towns there are no boat tour operators there despite the perfect location. The receptionist introduced us to Milan, who in turn arranged a wonderful day out on the resorts sailing yacht where we visited the blue cave, went for a swim and stopped off for a lovely Rosé lunch. The Forte Rose team also fitted our group of 10 into the restaurant upon our return where we had an enjoyable and delicious dinner. We found the team at the hotel so helpful that we arranged a return trip to Tivat by speedboat which was a great way to see the bay and the return journey in the pitch-black darkness (whilst 4 kids sang ABBA songs, as a result of watching Mamma Mia the previous evening) was a particular highlight. We also arranged speedboat transfers to both Tivat airport and to Herceg Novi and were so impressed at how helpful staff were each time we made a request. Whilst the village of Rose is quite remote by road it really is easy to get to by sea and having someone reliable to contact to arrange boat trips made our holiday so much better. It is also very extremely beautiful, and several of our group have said if we were to return it would involve a stay at this hotel. Thank you to everyone who was so helpful, despite us not being hotel residents. Your can-do attitude was a real highlight of our stay in Montenegro.

This small luxurious resort is an absolute gem, beautifully located on the edge of the small fishing village of Rose at the mouth of the Sea of Kotor. The original building was a fort and has been restored to a very high standard retaining original features and using local architectural flourishes to give a unique experience. The rooms are beautifully furnished to a high standard, and clearly this is all very new which gives a sumptuous feel. The restaurant has extensive outdoor seating with stunning views across the entrance to the sea of Kotor. Some of the middle range rooms open directly onto the water with a bathing Terrace below and a roof terrace for dining or sunbathing above. The central public area contains a smallish swimming pool, but this is complimented by two swimming areas in the sea with lifeguard on duty during the day. If arriving by boat as we did - there are five large mooring buoys available. If you have booked in the restaurant they are free and the complimentary water taxi will ferry you the short distance to the quay. For anyone exploring this area by water this has to be a must! The staff in the restaurant and at reception were very helpful and polite and speak good English. Dusan gave us a great tour and was clearly very proud of this hotel that has only been recently created here and are keen to share the history of the area with guests. The food was reasonably priced, well presented and absolutely delicious. Our waiter was brilliant. Although *********** states the hotel may be fully booked, it is worth contacting reception because we found there to be many vacancies, and it only “appears” booked because of imperfect requirement to book for three nights. In practice this is not required outside of the busy holiday season. Because of it’s remote location it may be easier to arrive by water taxi from the town opposite which itself is a shortish drive from Dubrovnik airport. Tivat airport is the Montenegran alternative again about a 40 minute scenic drive.

The hotel is beautiful, the luxury apartments have a private beach and I recommend them. The place is quiet and a true paradise for a couple or family vacation. I recommend visiting the tavern and tasting local products

Beautiful spot , excellent water but worst service ever, you have to go around and look for the waiter, very rude staff, no shower at the beach, not even 10% of the money you pay is worth it, be careful if you are planning to visit you will get out from here ripped off!! Worst place at Boka Bay for sure!

The restaurant have fantastic view and all preconditions for excellence. However the dishes are overpriced and the elementar hospitality is missing when it comes to advisory role. The starters are small and with prices for main dish. Famous potatous with rosmary was just a jocke.

Looks good from the sea, feels terrible when on the shore. Overrated place with ok food and season workers who doesn’t have a clue how to deal with the clients. They brought bottle of wine in the basket and place it on sun site from the table. When I said that wine will be warm, the reply from the worker was that “ he cannot change for sun to shine”. For 49 min there was no appetizers, no bread but only warm wine, which waiter brought in a minute after we placed an order. Vongoles in wine souse were great, but nothing else. We would have some pictures, but at that time it honestly looked like a piece of excrement on the plate with nothing else there! Our waiter told her it will take 6 min to prepare a side dish. We waited for 30 min with our meats sitting in 35 degrees heat. After that we threw our meats out and abruptly left. Stay away from places open only during season. They don’t care about you
