Welcome to the Rustic Mountain Retreat! This inviting home is perfect for larger groups that want to experience all the Great Smoky Mountains have to offer. With a hot tub, fire pit, WiFi, gas log fireplace, game room, and a variety of outdoor spaces to enjoy, you will fall in love with this lovely home. Relax in a rocking chair under the twinkle lights on the back deck, or roast marshmallows at the fire pit. This space has everything you need in order to enjoy a fantastic mountain escape! Located in Waynesville, this inviting home is perfect for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy nature, and yet still be convenient to the area attractions. Trees surround the property and local farms dot the landscape on your drive to the house. If you would like to explore the area, the Cataloochee Ski Resort is just 5 miles away, and it is less than 10 minutes to the beautiful town of Maggie Valley with all its shopping and festival ground events. Cherokee, Harrah’s Casino, and the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are about 30 minutes away, and guests that would like to visit the historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, can be there in less than ans hour. When your first arrive, you will find parking for 2 vehicles in the gravel driveway, as well as additional spaces in the front of the house. You’ll enter the front door and find a spacious laundry room with a washer and dryer, sink, and plenty of room for taking off those muddy hiking boots or wet ski clothes. From there, you will travel into the kitchen which opens up to the main living area. The updated and spacious kitchen has a wonderful gas stove, stainless steel appliances, wine fridge, and everything you will need to cook and enjoy a meal with friends and family. The kitchen flows into the spacious living room, with high ceilings and a stunning gas log fireplace. There is also a door to the back deck which has plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the mountain air, as well as a propane grill for additional cooking options. Also off the living room is a lovely dining area with a large table and seating for 8. This main floor also boasts 2 bedrooms and 2 baths that are set on either side of the living room. To the left, you will find the master bedroom with a comfy king side bed, tv, walk in closet, and an expansive attached bath with dual sinks and a walk in shower. There is also a desk and chair in this room that offers comfort and privacy for anyone needing to work while on vacation. To the right of the living room is a second bedroom, with a queen bed, tv, and an adjacent full bathroom. Also in the living area, is a gorgeous, hand crafted staircase. Traveling up the stairs takes you to a spacious loft that overlooks the living room, and has a full size bed, futon sofa bed, as well as some comfy chairs in a cozy little reading nook. Traveling down the stairs off the living room takes you to the lower level. Here you will find a second living area set up as a game room, with tons of board games, a chess table, tv, and a foosball table. There is also a door out to the covered back deck with a nice picnic space. There is a full bath on this level adjacent to the game room, and this space also has two additional bedrooms. One is a very spacious room with a king size bed. Then, on the opposite side of the game room, is a bedroom that is perfect for kids with 3 twin beds. Travel back outside, and you can enjoy the expansive back yard, as well as the side deck with comfortable outdoor chairs and the hot tub. Behind the house is the fire pit area, with tons of seating for a larger group to relax and enjoy. Additionally, travel up the staircase by the driveway to a hidden deck with seating that is tucked in the trees. We happily offer discounts to veterans, active military, and first responders. Other details to note: Guest must climb stairs to access the entire home. The Rustic Mountain Retreat is located off a gravel road. 4WD is not necessary to access the house in the milder months, however it is necessary in the winter in the event of snow or ice.
