We were gifted some vouchers as a wedding present and were so looking forward to our visit, however overall it was really disappointing. The food was the absolute highlight, so nicely prepared and beautiful to eat. The service was also very good. The biggest let down was our room; the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and made terrible creaking noises any time we moved. The pillows were awful and we came away with very sore backs. We passed this feedback on at check out and were simply told 'no one else has ever given that feedback'. We also had no hot water in the bathroom sink which I can see has been mentioned in previous reviews. We also had massages at the spa; one therapist was ok, the other did not want to be there. Given how much they charge we feel they absolutely need to lift their game. Visit for the food but steer well clear of everything else.

Très bel hôtel, au calme non loin de Napier. Tout a été parfait, ou presque. NE DONNEZ PAS VOS HABITS à laver et repasser, l’expérience a été désastreuse pour nous : habits livrés en vrac dans un sac, pas ou mal repassé, les couleurs ont été mélangées avec le blanc et nos T’shirt et polos blancs sont gris et jaune …..

Fantastisches Resort zum Entspannen auf der Rundreise durch Neuseeland. Pool, Spa, gute Massage. Ein sehr gutes Restaurant, welches sich mit Europäischen Restaurants durchaus messen kann. Das Hotel liegt außerhalb eines Ortes in einem wunderschönen Park.

We loved our stay! Everything was perfect, from the food, service, rooms, to the spa room. We were welcomed to enjoy the spa room, up until the last few minutes of our stay. We felt totally relaxed & taken care of. The dinner & breakfast was top quality. The gardens are well maintained & provide a lovely view from the restaurant, or when sitting on the top deck. Thank you 🙏

Service was excellent, the accommodations were excellent and the dinner in the restaurant was one of the best meals I’ve ever had!!! I had to leave before breakfast the next morning and they prepared me not one, but two incredible sandwiches to go. I only stayed one night, wish I could have stayed longer.

Mangapapa was a beautiful escape for a couple of locals celebrating our anniversary. From our warm greeting on arrival, the stunning decor in the lobby, bar & restaurant and of course the comfort and elegance of our room…just stunning. The team did not miss a thing, right down to freshly baked cookies in our room on arrival and serving the best Hawthorne Coffee. Robes and slippers are also provided which again is a nice extra that is often missed these days. The ‘trust the Chef’ menu at the restaurant was exquisite and breakfast the next morning just as divine. Everyone, local and visitor, should treat themselves to an escape at Mangapapa Hotel.
