place is convenient for business travellers. Hotel is clean and tidy.

Poor and in need of refurbishment. Only 1 towel (we only realised when we were getting showered so no chance of grabbing another one from reception), toilet seat hanging off and no table and chairs. Apparently they’re waiting for a delivery of new chairs. Walls, doors, skirting all chipped and scratched. I was assured all beds were king size then arrived to a double bed. Room smelt of smoke and it certainly wasn’t us. So all in all a disappointing stay and considering my expectations were low to start off with…….enough said.

Rip u of check debit cards fined us for something they said we did an we didn't so if u pay but card make sure u check again charged my wife 198 98 room an 100 fine for smoking lol 😆 we don't 2ven smoke so check your cards or in fact pay buy cash cos I will be infuture where ever we go

Nice location. Comfy room. Good service. However BEWARE of after sales service and parking. I reviewed before booking and was aware of others who warned of parking fine company in that location. The hotel advertises as free parking. On arrival we entered car reg in reception and on check out asked if the car was okay in car park while we had brunch at restaurant attached. Reception said it was fine. 2 week later we get a £100 fine for staying 21 hours without paying. This was while we were booked in Premier inn with car registered. Tried calling hotel direct 5 times today … just cuts off. Called customer services same thing. Alternative is to email and they guarantee reply in 10 days. Pretty poor for a large brand in hospitality. Awaiting something from hotel reception/ manager at Premier Marina relating to this situation…

Great Hotel in a great location. Friendly & helpful staff, good food and a clean / comfortable room. It's great value for a good nights sleep. This is one of the best Premier Inns I've been to and will try to use again when I'm back in the area.

We have stayed at this Premier Inn many times over the last few years. The location next to the marina was why we stayed the first time and then why we kept on returning. It was always great value and all but 2 rooms I believe , have views of at least part of the marina. We never had much luck with the food in the restaurant and chose to dine out as there is plenty of choice of good restaurants nearby. Sadly, many of the original great things with this hotel have now changed. Price increases generally, (which is the same across most hotels), however, you now pay extra for rooms with a view and this last time we visited, there are now parking charges. The car park is no longer free. It is only £3 per night, but that will almost certainly increase over time. The hotel is looking shabby, less clean and the rooms look tired. The WIFI, although free and has worked well in the past, was a nightmare this weekend and I was constantly having to sign back in every few minutes. The reception staff were pleasant as always and it must be quite difficult for them as they must also notice the decline in the hotel as well as we have. Such a shame, but we will be looking for alternative hotel groups when we visit the North East.
