The property and the staff are lovely !!!! Unfortunately we were there while pool renovations were being done and the jackhammer all day long was a bit much , however we were offered a small refund . They have an awesome water ferry on the property but on a winter limited schedule . We made the best of the transportation and would recommend this beautiful resort to anyone who asked !

The view cannot be beat. Almost all of the staff was super friendly and helpful. Dining at the resort was limited and very expensive. There was transportation to other restaurants owned by the property but also limited and expensive. The area is very desolate so it was necessary to use public transportation. Our room was very comfortable, but we did have to spray for ants in the bathroom. All in all, a great stay but not sure we would stay again.

The two restaurants at hotel, Blu and Aurora were the best two meals we had on our two week trip. Absolutely delicious and high quality. The view of the harbor from the horizon pool was gorgeous. We stayed in two types of rooms. The waterfront deluxe studio was spacious, clean and had great views. The one bedroom suite was huge with dining room, nice balcony and two bathrooms. Both rooms had all kitchen amenities as well. We enjoyed walking around the grounds with the lovely tropical flowers, palm trees and looking out at the water. When we would open the balcony door in the morning it smelled like jasmine and flowers. The staff were friendly, room service quick and tasty, and the vibe relaxing. We would stay here again.

Room is clean and enjoyed the pool / view. But the reception is rude and service is average to poor. Transportation is limited. Suggest to choose the beach side hotels

I have been coming to Newstead for three years and it has always been wonderful. This stay however, was not as wonderful. Our second day, the fire alarm went off in our room twice during the night, and we were unable to reach any staff member. Other than that, the staff was very nice and our room was great.

What I liked about the Newstead: 1) Centralized location on the island. 2) Friendly and extremely reactive staff. (Asked for extra blankets and we had them within 5 minutes) 3) Water ferry to Hamilton. It's on a limited schedule but still convenient. 4) 2 Bedroom Suites more than accommodated 8 of us. There was actually 2.5 baths (2 full bathrooms and 1 powder room). I wasn't expecting the extra half bathroom which was a pleasant surprise. Rooms were clean and big and the patios were comfortable with nice view of the harbor. There was a small kitchenette which proved to be quite convenient as well. 5) Round of golf is provided. Just have to pay for cart. 6) Satellite TV had almost every channel imaginable. 7) Master bedroom had jacuzzi tub. What I didn't like about the Newstead: 1) There's was only one restaurant on site that was open (it was the off season and the other restaurants actually required a shuttle to get there) 2) You need to take a 5 minute shuttle to golf course and the other resort restaurants. It's free and they are always on call but sometimes it's just easier to walk if allowed. 3) Pool is not heated. Would have been great to use in January. 4) The exterior appeared a little dated and the rooms decor leaned toward the older side. 5) Only had breakfast at the restaurant, Auroras, but I felt service was bit slow. We were the only ones there and it took quite a while for food to arrive. However servers were quite friendly and cordial.
