Absolutely delightful place to stay with very comfortable accommodation and excellent breakfast. Nice rural location but close to main routes. Brenda could not have been any more welcoming and is an accomplished baker! Very highly recommended

This is a brilliant B&B. It’s run by Brenda and Gavin who are very friendly and welcoming. The house is in the middle of the countryside but 10 minutes from Fielding which has a variety of eateries. When we arrived, there was the most incredible sunset. The accommodation is in its own self contained area with a separate entrance, two rooms and ensuite. Brenda supplies home-made biscuits which is a lovely touch as well as teas and coffees et cetera. The following morning we had a great breakfast including lots of home-made pancakes, cereal, fruit, juice, tea, coffee et cetera. I’d say the best place we stayed in New Zealand. Also very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend without reservation.

Staying at Scottbase was like being enveloped by a warm comfortable blanket. It was a cold night and our room had a heater and electric blankets, a very generous bathroom and fridge/tea making facilities, I.e. everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The house is set in beautiful peaceful surroundings, the garden is well tended and Brenda's roses are beautiful! Good continental breakfast plus some great home baking. We really couldn't ask for more. This B&B offers great value for money. Brenda and Gavin are great hosts and just lovely genuine people. We would have loved to stay longer. Would highly recommend to single travellers, couples or families alike.
