The worst experience ever. From minute one before even entering the hotel. We arrived me and my family late at 9:00 pm, tired and the weather is cold. There is a barrier that does not allow you to enter the hotel front and the parking. The barrier did not open, I called, and a lady spoke to me and told me that the parking is fully booked while it was obviously more than half empty. She advised to park outside the hotel and walk to the hotel. I asked her to allow us to drop my family and the bags off. She HUNG UP ON ME. WHAT A DISGRACEFUL PERSON. I left my car and entered the hotel and she straight away before I spoke to her that she did not hung up on me. There were 2 ladies, it was the white lady. I asked her for her manager she refused and told me we can talk. i told her that I am not talking to her, however, she refused to allow us to drip the bags. I pulled our bags from the car and dropped my family off. She acted as if there is nothing happened. A respectful Hotel would assist their customer when they have good special circumstances. I did not ask for parking, I asked to drop my family near as it was cold. However, she was rude and hung up on me. her excuse that the line closed by itself after a certain time. When I asked why she did not switch the line on again, she was stuck and could not reply. This sort of person needs a lot to learn to work in hospitality. Disgraceful person. I am a gold member with Accor Hotels. This experience will make me think again if I will continue with this chain.
Easy to get here from Amsterdam Schipol Airport and instant access to the Spinter station of Haarlem. Very convenient location to get around places of interest in peaceful and beautiful Haarlem. Super nice staff, Dirk and the ladies are hospitable. Overall a welcoming hotel beyond worthy of its price. I would recommend 5/5 for backpackers.
My husband and I had a lovely 3 night stay here in a deluxe room on the 2nd floor. It is a small hotel and feels very personal. Haarlem is a pretty little town and is an easy base to spend time in Amsterdam but have a quieter place to come back to (that is still big enough to have plenty of dinner options). We were so glad we stayed in Haarlem to see things in Amsterdam. Took about 15 mins on the train to get to Amsterdam and the train station is just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Our room was large with a super comfortable bed and we never heard a sound from any other room or from outside! Incredibly peaceful. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful with suggestions on where to eat etc. The kitchen staff were excellent - lovely food and so keen to cook food fresh for us each day to add to what was already put out on the buffet. There is a lounge area for guests with complimentary biscuits, lollies, tea, coffee etc - and an honesty system to pay for alcohol and more substantial snacks - and a table tennis table, magazines, books, comfy chairs - and also a common outdoor space. We left on a Saturday afternoon to catch a train a Belguim and spent the morning at the markets. Great way to spend our last morning in Haarlem. Only negative is that there is no lift and the stairs are steep. If you have limited mobility you should mention this to the hotel before booking. There were rooms on the ground floor and i'm sure the staff could arrange for these rooms to be allocated to you or to help get your luggage upstairs (if you manage the stairs if you didn't need to get your luggage up). We loved our room up on the 2nd floor as it was so quiet but the stairs were steep so be aware of that if your mobility is limited.
Bizarre, unpleasant and outdated hotel, Good location but : - it is near cathedral which ring the bells every half an hour - same building : hotel + private appartements - it has a commun interior court which is noisy until 3:AM and start again at 5:00 AM - difficult sleep - too much noisy Room : - has carpet which is not clean - see photos - has a decent size - rooms are bad isolated - has safe box and a kettle for instant coffee or tea - no fridge - inconfortable bathroom for towels - room has not AC only fans - heat is ok TV - Monday to Friday has only few dutch channels. WiFi is ok. Reception it is unwelcome with foreign tourists it is like they don’t want us ??? Conclusion : - unpleasant - noisy - overpriced - dated We stayed 3 nights and we regretted. I hope it helps. Gabriel
I enjoyed everything about this hotel. The location is perfect for walking around old Haarlem. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were friendly. My room was above the street which was noisy at night, but with the windows closed it was tolerable. The upside was a view of the church. The breakfast buffet was OK. However, the hotel is also a quick walk away from some great bakeries with some of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had.
We stayed at this hotel as a large group, 28 people. On arrival we were met by friendly and helpful staff who checked us in without any issues. The bedrooms were modern clean and spacious. The facilities in the rooms were excellent with coffee machine, fridge and large TV. The buffet breakfast had a large selection of cooked breakfast items, cold meats and cheese, and pastries. The hotel was located near bus stops where you travel to Vandroot for the beach or Amsterdam for onward travel. There is also a large supermarket nearby, 5 min walk, which makes this an ideal place to stay to enjoy Haarlem. I will return with my family the next time.
