Can't really fault the place. So many of the guests are repeat visitors and I think that says it all. All of the staff were excellent, warm, friendly and eager that the guests had a good time. The room was spotlessly clean. The kitchenette is not equipped for ambitious meals but is fine for cold breakfasts and storing Bottled water and cold drinks. We preferred to have simple bread, cheese and tomato breakfasts with food from the local super markets. V nice bread. Had a full breakfast on our last day which was very good . Ate there on an evening a few times and the food was always very good. The credit card machine wasn't working but they did accept sterling.

Just back after 11 nights at this hidden gem. The apartments are very clean and the food which is prepared by Burak and Ercan is fabulous. Aziz the Barman is really nice and helpful and can also be very funny 🤣 The boys work so hard and nothing is a problem for them. The location of these apartments are ideal with lots of Turkish cafes and kebab shops 100 metres away.

This was our second year at the agar and it won't be our last this place is a little gem Mary Elvin and all the staff do everything they can to make your holiday a good one and never fail and we'll done Mary and Elvin for your jet2 award it is well deserved 👏 see you again next year ❤️

What an absolutely amazing week we have had at the Agar Apartments, thank you to all the staff!! While we were here, the hotel received a Jet2 Quality Award, one of only four hotels in Bodrum to receive this. A different experience for us coming off season but just what we wanted. The hotel is as usual, spotlessly clean, with the staff ensuring our room is kept to a lovely standard. I have to mention the two bedroom apartment, which is spacious and offers some privacy for all. The air-conditioning has just been replaced a couple of months ago which is always a bonus. Just remember to keep windows and doors closed to get the best benift in the shortest time frame. Pool is spotless and cleaned every evening, slightly cooler than usual. Food as usual, is superb with many various dishes on offer. Just back from our 2nd year in a row staying at the agar. Already looking to book again for next year. Our apartment was as usual clean and well presented Just what’s needed for self catering. Mary and the team were as welcoming as ever. We ate a few times in the restaurant and the food was great. Had steak on last night and it was cooked to perfection. We met up with a few regulars that have been going here for years. The waiter aziz was as cheery as ever and very accommodating. Apartment was cleaned every day. Supermarkets and bars restaurants and shops only 5 min walk so perfectly situated. We arrived quite late but was not a problem. Got our air con and late check out sorted right away without any problems. Can’t wait to get bk next year.

This hotel is not a 3 star hotel. It’s very dated. The staff are very, very rude. The cleaners were lovely and tried there best, with basic facilities. The jet 2 rep wasn’t helpful and didn’t respond to my complaint. It’s not what you expect of a jet 2 holiday. Air con is rubbish. I booked after reading the good reviews, but felt very let down. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

We booked this hotel after reading other reviews, we booked a 2 bed apartment and was fully aware there was one aircon unit in the living area, upon arrival late at night we checked in and my husband said we would pay for the safe and aircon in the morning, when entering our room all the doors and windows where open and the room was very hot, we understand there was a heatwave but the aircon was not doing anything, we then spoke to reception and he came up and said there was nothing wrong with it, so we asked to borrow the fan from reception, we had no sleep as it was just too hot. My husband asked to speak to the Manager as we had spoken with another guest who had stayed there before and they said they had just been moved as theirs wasn't working properly, we spoke to another guest and he said his was so cold he had to turn it off so it clearly wasn't to do with the heatwave!! he told us another lady in his party with small children had spent 6 nights putting wet towels on her children so they could sleep she then complained and her aircon was sorted, they have also stayed there before, they said it had changed there from previous years and would not be returning! The manager was adamant there was nothing wrong with the aircon but my breath produced colder air than the aircon!! He just kept saying it was a heatwave! we asked to speak to rep as an argument broke out with my husband and the manager, 2 reps turned up and they where briefed by the hotel staff so also told us there was nothing wrong with the aircon, the thing that got me was how the smirked in your face and made out they did not speak English! my husband said we know it's not a 5* hotel but we expect a working aircon, the toilet seat was cracked and the shower head just sprayed out and you had to hold it and there was a leak so the living area was all wet, we have since been blamed for wrecking the apartment! the rep said to my husband but you said it was a cheap holiday! we asked to speak to an actual area manager 2 lovely people turned up and they agreed the aircon was not producing any air, the manager argued with them also saying there was nothing wrong with the aircon and it was a heatwave, so at this point we where advised the manager didn't want us at the hotel and we wanted to move anyway, my husband did become quite confrontational but after 3 days of no sleep, being lied to and treated like crap, also our disabled son was starting to struggle due to the lack of sleep and heat at night, we then moved to a different hotel and guess what during the heatwave the aircon was working and the manager was lovely and the rest of our holiday was fantastic. As per previous comment from hotel manager we did not say we would apologise to him to enable us to stay at his hotel as we wanted to leave, and we did not have to pay the full price of accommodation at the next hotel as the manager stated, we also had no problem paying for aircon that was actually cooling our room, when we moved w

This is the fairest review I can give of the Agar Apartments. The four star review is given due to the most four positive things about this apart hotel. The pool area is charming, a nice vibe and due to it being small in size you get a friendly vibe, people actually talk to each other and get to become friends. The grounds are kept immaculate and the cleaners do a fantastic job. The food is reasonably priced and worth the wait when it does arrive. They do a 3 course set menu in the evening for around 340 lira. Bar staff are fabulous. The only reason why I haven't given 5 stars is that the apartments are in need of modernising, they are reasonable in size but very dated and poorly equipped. I think the reason why there is no toaster, microwave, tin opener etc is simply down to the fact that they want you to dine there. The aircon is situated in the lounge area, very poor so we gave the remote control back as they charge £5 per day. Cooler to just open the windows. There are no complimentary cleaning products or soap/shampoo. Bath towel small and there is a folder stating what you'll be charged if you break or stain anything, I. E., if you use P20 sun cream and it stains the sheets! You can extend your room if there is availability at £25 until 6pm or £35 until pick up. The safety deposit boxes are not in your room, they are in reception at a cost of £15per week, so we chose not to hire one. The apartments are about a 20 minute walk to beach and bars. Taxi cost £3 to Bodrum marina. The hotel management went above and beyond as we were leaving as the coach transfer didn't show up and they contacted the rep for us. Mary's husband even followed the taxi to catch up with him as I'd left my handbag in reception, I can't thank them enough. The Agar is rated 3 stars, so please don't expect 4 or 5 star standards. Yes, my hear sank at first when I stepped into the apartment, but by the evening I decided I liked it there as it was so friendly.

Well we have just returned from this place after a return visit. It’s still a great place to meet with like minded people and have a great time, but a few things seem to of changed. Now last year we got a few mosquito bites but this year everyone is bit to hell. Every morning watching people come down to the pool with another 6-12 bites. Please Agar take this seriously and get some form of deterrent. Even if it’s being swing fogged twice a week. On these grounds alone we will not be returning. Also please put Aziz back on the bar. Was sick and tired of hearing the same 20 songs played on rotation. All in all a great holiday and friends for life made but sadly will not be returning. Thanks for the memories Agar.

OCCUPANT:Man 48y Woman 42 and BOY 8 (ALL ASIAN) DATES: 13th August till 23 Aug 2023. ARRIVAL: arrived there given a one bedroom apartment self catering. Air conditioner is is kitchen diner instead of bedroom .so either me and mrs sleeping there and young one will slleep under AC. if AC is NO overnight the person who sleep in dining kitchen will be too cold and other which are in bed will be just ok. i went to reciepion and talked with night duty guy who was ok and on my insistance OWNER talked with me but later i discovered he was Barman not owner and he said he dont give a dame and i was the first person who complained regarding sleeping arrangement and AIR CONDITIONER placement. that bartendnder was rude and said that no body ever compained about that ever before. While i was tere 10 days he never even given a smile to me even i tried to sau hello. CLEANENESS. its very very clean and pool is spot on as well. EQUIPMENT: its well equiped with mugs plates fry pan and 3 other pans fridge etc so good on that . OVERALL: its a good place for ENGLISH people as theres is a bar and resturent and pool and its good enough. this plac is better suited to them instead of us as a asian person. no other entertainment even sunday belly dance with dinner havnt happened . on leaving day they dont provide any person for bagagge and on way out i met owner and when i tried to tell him staff rudness he said in last many years i wam the only one who is complaining . staff is nice exept the bartender and day receiptionist which was rude . i could have given 5Star if staff wasnt rude . overall good place as i cant be biased bcs they wasnt good with me. there are few pictures i will share here . I have booked independently boat trip for 1000 Turkish Lira for 3 of us and waterpark 1400 for 3 of us through a guy . JET2 HOLIDAYS. They are good accurate pick up and drop . Wasn't much helpful regarding AC and bed arrangement . Just a paperfillibg but no action . overall good

If you don't expect to much from the Agar appts you won't be disappointed , no I'm not being sarcastic these are totally adequate , firstly this hotel is on a little backstreet even the taxi drivers can't find it (all of them get a leaflet from reception show it to the taxi driver and it gets you there . (but taxis are very cheap Bodrum 100tkl Bitez about 180 tkl both of which are far nicer than Gumbet ,our apartment was at the very rear of this small complex and really not really very much like the appt used in their promo pictures and only had air con in the living area this meant the bedroom became stifling and stayed that way , but adequate , the balconies yes there were two of them were little more than shelves bring only 37 cm wide totally unusable not adequate ,the cleanliness of the appt was fine little things like the cutlery had been washed but still had tea stains on the spoons a little ****** but adequate , the appts were cleaned daily the sheets changed every other day as were the towels ( spotless and plenty of them ) the pool area is clean and well presented but every morning by 7-30 the laying of the towel ritual had been performed on ALL of the sun loungers ( this being clearly stated in the house rules as not allowed ) and as most of the people staying didn't appear till around eleven so most were empty till then , no attempt was made to enforce the no claim rule ( as in most hotels with this ruling it has to be said. The menu is rather chips with everything but well prepared and the portions are good again adequate . The staff are pleasant and helpful the from the reception staff to the cleaners . NOW THIS IS AN IMPORTANT WARNING THE HOT WATER IN THIS HOTEL IS VERY VERY HOT AND MANY TURKISH SHOWERS DO NOT HAVE ANTI SCALD DEVICES FITTED BE VERY CAREFUL AS WE FOUND THE SHOWER DIFFICULT TO REGULATE . We have just come back from these apartments in Gumbit. The Agar apartments have very friendly staff who met us at the door when we arrived. Our apartments were very basic and clean but nothing flash. There is no oven but there is 2 electic rings to cook on. We were advised to use bottled water for tea and coffee because of the lime in the water. The 2 cups we had were little dinky ones so if you like a good cuppa I suggest you take your own. The Aircon was in the living area only, but this didn't effect us much because when we went to bed we left the door open for it to blow through. The cleaners came everyday to empty bins, make beds, tidy round ect. Clean towels were not provided everyday. Hotel food was good quality and reasonably priced. There seemed to be other guests who came back every year and alot of them knew each other. This made it difficult to get sunbeds around the pool or seats at the bar. We had to go down to put towels on beds at 7.10am and there was only a few beds left. Some beds had towels on all day but nobody on them. There is no eating or drinking your own stuff around the pool. However because a large family who came back every year were drinking their own spirits from their own water bottles and staff know this because they kept in touch with members of staff and hotel manage when they were in England. They were even allowed to go behind the bar and change music whenever they wanted to even though others were listening to it. There should not be one rule for them and another for other guest. The hotel offers a Turkish night on a Thursday at a cost of £20 per person or £10 for children. This did not include drinks and there was a dancer preforming. It also offers a boat trip and cost £35. Breakfast is included in the price and lunch on the boat. Also an evening meal at the end of the trip. All the staff from the housekeeping, reception, bar, waiters were all friendly. Its a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach. Sunbeds are free at Nagi beach and is right on the beach, all you have to do is buy a drink. You can also use their facilities like the pool and toilets. We went there most days.

The apartment is very clean and spacious. Cleaned every day. Air con is £5 a day, and to be far has no impact in the bedroom. It was too hot to have a good night sleep. We had breakfast every day, which was lovely and good value for money. Short walk to local restaurants and shops. The pool was great clean and a good size. The bar had a good selection and also good value for money. All staff are lovely and very helpful. We would return.

Firstly the hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was clean and our room was cleaned daily. The food at the hotel was good (apart from the chicken nuggets - they are disgusting) and to be fair to the hotel, they didn't charge us. 1 pizza and a portion of chips easily fed our 5yr and 7yr olds (shared). The chicken fajitas was yummy and a very large portion (defo didn't need to order the chips). The Turkish night was so so so fun and the food you have with it was the best we ate all wk (traditional Turkish). Aziz (one of the workers) is a super fun guy. Really friendly with the kids. We went on the boat trip through the hotel. The lunch was average but it wasn't about that. We stopped off at 4 bays and were able to jump off the boat and swim to shore on each stop. They no longer go to camel beach as the government have stopped the boats from being able to stop there. You do have to pay for the Aircon and safety box which was fine with us. The other hotel guests were so nice. There was a couple of families that have been going to this hotel for yrs and we can see why ❤️ All in all, the hotel was the best part of our holiday. We hope to go again, much love x
