Planning for your daughter’s wedding is a beautiful thing and for such a special occasion, you want everything to be wonderful and perfect. Anyone who has been through this however, knows just how stressful of a time it can be. All the little details, all the big details, everything is just so important, like “where is everybody going to stay?”. The wedding ceremony and the reception were to be at Gibbet Hill in Groton MA, and the rehearsal dinner was on Thursday evening. We wanted the wedding party, family, and close friends to have the option of staying nearby, Thursday and Friday evening if they chose to. We wanted that somewhere, to be very special and memorable and…… we found it! We selected the Groton Inn in Groton MA, and we could not be happier that we did so, as it is not only perfectly located next door to where the ceremony and reception were to be, but it is a most beautiful facility with incredible accommodations. The Inn could not have been more accommodating for us and all our guests. The staff and reservation team made reserving the block of rooms so easy and affordable, that my wife and I did not have to worry about a thing. The Inn literally took care of everything. We had a rehearsal dinner on site at the lovely restaurant called Forge & Vine where nothing was left to want. After the dinner most retired to cozy couches and chairs around a fire place in this most comfortable outside courtyard, nestled in between the U-shaped wings of the Inn, just through two glass pained French doors, giving off the ambiance of a European grotto or outdoor café. The day of the wedding, the wedding party had more than ample accommodations to prepare for the wedding day in the wonderful luxury of several large, beautiful rooms including the Bridal Suite where hair, make-up and dressing took place in a lush and relaxing environment. Everything about this place creates such a “feel good” experience from the amazing décor and wonderful furniture set up in the grand lobby and beautiful hallways. The rooms were fantastically laid out with gorgeous furniture and fixtures, fit for a royal family. We honestly felt more like we were staying in the guest rooms of a massive mansion, very much NOT in your typical hotel. I cannot say enough about the courteous, friendly, yet ever so professional staff. Each and everyone of them tended to our every need making this special time, all that much more amazing. We also had an after party on Friday evening after the wedding in a beautiful function room at the Inn, where the guests were treated with excellent bar service, music, dancing and just a whole lot of fun for those that didn’t want the evening to end. We had a delicious Buffet style breakfast Saturday morning at the Inn’s Conservatory, where plenty of windows allowed the room to be flooded with pleasing natural lighting.
