I recently traveled with my father who is into his 80's. I prepaid and reserved a handicapped room. Upon arrival, I was told that there were no rooms with handicap accessibility for him. When I went to handle the matter at the front office, the customer service rep stated that the room was given to someone who called and wanted the room. I told her that was awful. On the same trip on Saturday evening, my family met in the lobby. A group was there before us and offered us alcohol. We thanked the nice family but declined. My family members came with adult beverages as well. We were nicely told that we could not drink in the lobby. My problem is that the same conversation was not held with the family that was visibly there before us. Two accounts of discrimination (one age and one race) are not acceptable in this day and time. Its a sin and shame and more of a sin and shame for the leadership who continues to read these instances and does not act. Lets do better.
