"Staying at this retro, Route 66 motel was one of the highlights of our road trip. It is in the process of being renovated, but the unrenovated rooms have a charming retro feel and are surprisingly spacious for motel rooms. They are a bit run down, as is to be expected, but they are scrupulously clean. The owner was an absolute delight. He directed us to an excellent restaurant and coffee shop, and gave us great information about scenic routes and things to do on the next leg of our journey. We had imagined that our trip would be car camping with occasional stops at motels just like this. Sadly, none of the other motels were even remotely as fun."

"Great Staff, Clean Room, Nearby Walmart and Restaurants, & Moderate Breakfast. Stay there whenever traveling past on US 40. Any time a problem occurred the staff was very prompt in fixing what ever the problem was. Room was quiet with no passing train noises that used to be a problem in Grant's Hotel facilities. Make sure you take the first exit for Grants if coming from the east on Hwy 40. Otherwise take the third exit if traveling from the West. If you miss it traveling East there is no turn around for many miles. There is one dirt path just a little past the exit if you missed it but comes up quickly and having to turn left from the left lane on the freeway can be a bit exciting with fast moving eastbound traffic. The TV is Direct TV and comes in very clear. Beds are very comfortable and varying assortment of sizes of pillows filled with shredded foam. AC / Heater works very efficiently and comfortable. Will continue to stay there when passing through on business or pleasure."
