Lovely guest house within a ten minute walk to the please park and Barry Island train station. We stayed over for a night for the Gavin and Stacey tour and it was the perfect location. Upon arrival we rang the door bell and was swiftly greeted by Lyndon, who is a very friendly man with a great sense of humour. He informed us of where to park and to fill out a breakfast form. We arrived earlier but our room was already ready for us which was a bonus. We stayed in room 3 which had been recently refurbished and new carpet, a lovely modern room with a smart TV, mini fridge, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of storage for our bags. It was nice and quiet in the guest house and the bed was so comfy! We had our breakfast which was made fresh to order, and tasted delicious. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Barry! Thank you for your hospitality and for making us feel so welcome. 🤗

I stayed in this guest house for two nights in June and I have no complaints. Lyndon and Lucy are good hosts, with Lyndon making the best breakfast just as you want it. The property is an easy walk from Barry Island train station, and it's a great base if you wish to get to know both sides of the town (it's all walkable). I had a double room with a private bathroom; it had a flatscreen TV, plenty of tea and coffee, towels and toiletries provided, and even a fridge and ironing board in the wardrobe! Aside from a little bit of mould at the bottom of the shower, which I didn't use, the room and bathroom were both very clean. Overall, staying at Gail's Guest House was a great experience that I would recommend, especially to solo travellers like me who are looking for somewhere safe and homely.

Stayed here for 1 night with a friend, it is an excellent location & only around a 10/15 minute walk to the beach. Our room was very clean and I was impressed by the size of the bathroom. The breakfast was lovely and the owner was really friendly. Would definitely recommend!
