Avoid if you wish to shower. No warm/hot water when tried to use shower between 6.15 to 7.15 pm, freezing cold. When reported advised will reset boiler? And kitchen washing up and others using shower. Manager very helpful and out of his control. Never been away for night and not had shower. Had restaurant booked for 7.30

Great stay at the Commodore Inn. Great location, great venue, fab food and amazing staff. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The room we stayed in was The Porthole and has a huge window giving fantastic views of Morecambe Bay

The pictures on the website are not like that in reality. Rooms were small. No drawers in our room for clothes to taken out of cases. We had 1 bedside lamp the other guests had no bedside lights. Showers not great and our shower curtain was really grubby. Food was lovely and staff in the bar were great. Breakfast was a complete miss! Items missing. Food cold. Had lattes the first morning then told they didn’t do lattes at breakfast on the 2nd morning. Only for another couple to get lattes about 20 mins later. So as a pub and restaurant it’s good but the rooms need a serious makeover!

Whilst the room, bed, carpet n Towels were clean the two chairs in the Window were stained, it was in need of a refurb. There was no light in the bathroom as the switch was broken and the door wouldn’t close. No heating on the Thurs but it was on on the Friday. The windows are single glazed so there was heavy condensation on them in the morning. Breakfast was ok just very greasy watery. I bet it was a fab hotel at one time but it needs a serious upgrade. I would not stay again.

We arrived to a room with a very small double bed that should have been a superior room. There was no 3rd bed for my daughter to sleep in and my husband was too tall for the double. The hotel is run down and the room was dirty. The bathroom light only worked occasionally. The police arrived at 11am to sort out a domestic at the inn and the music was loud until late so don’t go here if you want to sleep. The staff however were fantastic and views were nice.

I will start by saying the photos look much nicer than reality. The staff were lovely but very much over worked , only 2 staff working at any time . We were shown to our room , which we paid extra for a deluxe ! The carpets were filthy . As were the chairs in front of the window. The kettle and what it was placed on was also dirty and very dusty . This room hasn’t had a deep clean since I don’t know when . The shower head was black and grimy with dirt as was the shower curtain . The loo seat was loose . The sink was broken and badly repaired . All the fittings were very old and loose . Going for breakfast I got a very strong smell of bleach which the cleaner was using to wash floors in bar area . She then starting serving breakfast to us without any change of clothes which I considered to be very unhygienic. Saying that the breakfast was adequate considering the surroundings. One member of staff was telling me one afternoon that they are way too overworked and was expected to multitask in all areas of jobs to be done . The location was fantastic but unfortunately the conditions at the hotel were not up to standard . Wouldn’t return or recommend to anyone . Very disappointed with our stay .

Had cause to visit at lunch time. I visited the downstairs gents toilet, there was a single cubical and several urinals, I utilized the cubical. To negotiate my way in was difficult (I am not infirm), the door restricted entry and meant I had to 'sidle' in. The toilet seat was loose and when the door was closed there was little light, because the light was in the main area and shone over the door. (no bespoke cubicle light). Worse to come, the door had no means of locking, where the lock should have been was a hole 40mm diameter hole. (No I didn't carry a tape measure, that is an approximation) Extremely luckily no one tried to enter whilst I was sat there, but a very uncomfortable experience. Sidled out to wash, to find only cold water, a black bin liner covered the area of the basin where I assumed a second tap should have been. Used the soap dispenser and wash almost ready to exit. Well I'll be, no means of drying my hands, no drier, no paper towels, nothing. Not a pleasant experience.

Positives were the view and the friendly service. Negatives were the shower did not work as it only discharged a dribble of cold water. Also, we had really noisy and inconsiderate guests next door who kept us up between 1.30am and 4am. Not the hotel’s fault although they could perhaps have intervened for the benefit of other guests.

This is a super hotel . Clean comfortable and great location. The rooms were clean and very cosy and the balcony is fabulous with great views over the bay. Lots of charm and character . The breakfast is first class and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful . Very clean too . The food is fabulous and great value . Couldn’t recommend it enough . Don’t understand the bad reviews at all .Booked again for October already .
