Best Western Plus Appleton Airport/Mall Hotel

We arrived at this hotel, which I had chosen based on pictures of their pool and hot tub area, after a long day of driving, ready to relax and refresh. My son needed to use the bathroom before we checked in, so we went down the hall to the restroom by the pool. We noticed the pool door was blocked with construction tape and there was a sign saying the pool area was closed. I asked the person checking us in and she said there had been an incident a couple days prior mixing chemicals and the entire hotel had to be evacuated. The pool was still closed and we would not be able to use it during our stay. When I informed her that the pool was a primary reason we wanted to stay, she said she could check us in and send us to another hotel with a pool. We chose this option, so hopped in my truck and back tracked up the freeway about 10 minutes to the AmericInn by Wyndham, Appleton. The stay here was ok, but the hotel was dated and dirty. There were out of order signs on the vending machines, the hot tub, and the juice machine at breakfast. The pool was decent, but the lack of hot tub discouraging. The breakfast “buffet” was probably the poorest I’ve seen. Not only was the juice machine out of order, but there was no milk for my son’s cereal. I asked and they said they were out. That left nothing for him to drink either, so we went back to our room with some reheated sausage patties and dry cereal, where we had some drinks we had brought. Poor properties and service.

Great property just had to wait in line for check in while a whole team of people checked in. Then even tho is was 8:30 pm n check in starts at 3 the worker had to run to the room and double check that it was ready since it was a whirlpool suite. So it took almost an hour before we were checked in and in our room

I had a very important sporting event in which I insured that there was a hot tub available prior to my sporting event to help prep my body. Unfortunately, after checking in I was told that the hot tub or water at whirlpool has been out of service for sometime.

Pool was not in service. It was the reason I booked.

Great hotel. Close to mall and airport. Many options of interior, carpet, towels, bedding etc looked brand new. Clean spacious rooms. Front desk clerk was helpful and polite. There had been an issue with finding my reservation, so was given a room upgrade for the inconvenience and in the end the problem turned out to be an error on my part. Will definitely stay there again.

Appears there was a little construction before I got there. There was all kinds of things on the rug. There for 3 days, never was it vacuumed. I don't think the cleaning staff was on my floor for all 3 days. No coffee in the morning. One day i took decaf, ran to the car and took my first sip on the run. It was cold....

Nice staff, easy check in.noticed right away it was very dirty. Carpets hadnt been vacuumed, elevator had spilled coffee on the floor. Pool was really warm...which was great because the hot tub was drained empty!! Beds were great. Water pressure in shower was horrible. Cant recommend.

Overall, a good stay if you’re on a budget. Seems short staffed and the staff I encountered wasn’t over friendly but no one was rude either. The room is basic and could use fresh paint but the beds were comfortable. It’s in a good area close to restaurants and shopping.
