Tiny room in this old hotel had only a sink, shared bathrooms and showers were down the corridor. There were laundry facilities. Bed quite comfy. Breakfast was a completely do it yourself affair -- no staff around at all -- but cereal, fresh fruit, toast, tea, plunger coffee.

This is a classic "quaint friendly pub" style accomodation, with great pub-style food. The location is fantastic, looking out over Governors Bay and a hop skip and a jump down to the waterside. The listing is accurate, although I suspect a little time has passed since the photos were taken - it's more "historic" than "gleaming new". I'd definitely love to come and stay again another time.

Amazing historical hotel in Governors Bay. The hotel itself is 150yrs old, it’s been kept very classical, so no ensuites or kitchens in rooms. Breakfast comes with the room and it’s a standard breakfast with tea, coffee, cereals, fresh fruits, yoghurt, breads and spreads. I missed out if the room with the balcony, but I recommend that option if you can, great view over the bay. I only had dinner there one night and it as good, pizza and a pint. They have a great selection lot local beer and wine. It’s a great spot to stop even if you’re just passing through. Staff are friendly and helpful The pool is amazing.

Fabulous views but today's food disappointed. Perhaps it wasn't fair to visit on a public holiday when staff were under pressure and the chef may have had the day off? Cafe breakfasts are easy to get wrong - there is a lot going on. However, fabulous breakfasts are hard to beat and sadly Governor's Bay hotel was not the place to get one today. On the plus side the coffee was nice and the people who ordered wine and beers looked happy. Certainly the wine list has some nice things on it and the pours were generous. Might consider returning for a drink one day.

The restaurant and bar were great. Lovely setting, friendly staff and good food. As a place to stay its very average. Lot of money spend doing up the rooms in the way of paint, carpet and power outlets but important small touches missing. No towel rack for damp towels. No place to hang a jacket. Nowhere to put your clothes over night. Poor security. If you want fresh air open the door to the deck but then it cant be secured so anyone can enter your room from the deck. Bed is OK but bedding very thin and inadequate. Breakfast is good. Just don't expect too much from the accommodation

Over night stay with amazing views from our bedroom balcony. Our bedroom was spacious,clean & cozy. Great to be able to have a swim in the heated pool. Very relaxing afternoon with drinks & nibbles. We both enjoyed our evening meals & the staff friendly & gave exceptional service. We were made to feel very welcome.
