I have no idea why this property has so many great reviews. We are loyal to Marriott Bonvoy and this was a huge disappointment! We stayed here at the end of February. The pros are that the staff are incredibly friendly and the sunsets are beautiful. The cons are endless. Dirty furniture and window treatments in the villa. Outdated furniture. Rust in hot tub. Not all treadmills worked. Horrible system for launching kayaks and paddle boards into the water. The road to the beach is in major need of repair. The beach chairs are piled in a mangled mess and the beach is not clean. The food is outrageously expensive. Bonvoy Platinum members don’t really get breakfast for two. You still pay for coffee, tea and bottled water and it was not cheap. Have to pay for THE BUGS ARE HORRIBLE. It is very overpriced and the points redemption is very inflated. Go stay at a Ritz or a St.Regis for the same price and/or same points value and you will get much more for your money. I would never recommend this property.

I wanted to go back and write this review. My husband is lifetime titanium and they gave us an upgrade so we had two connecting rooms and a pool that was private for us. The resort provides a golf cart so you can drive to the French leave beach across the road. Be aware the road is ill maintained and full of bumps. The beach is lovely and the resort staff will bring you chairs and towels in the evening you may be the only person on that beach which is true luxury. We found the food at the resort mediocre but service was great. In general the food at the island establishments we tried was average. Eleuthera is not commercialized so don’t expect lots of shopping areas which is actually what makes it so alluring. Also remember this resort is an hour drive from the airport so a rental car is a must.

A big thank you to the staff at French Leave Resort for making my parents 60th Anniversary truly special. In November my sister and I surprised our parents with this trip as their anniversary gift. From the moment that we arrived at the resort we were greeted by Karell and her team who went above and beyond to ensure that my parents’ 60th anniversary was truly special. The check-in process was seamless and Karell immediately made us feel like we were VIP guests. She took the time to listen to our interests and created a list of activities that perfectly suited our preferences and she was even assisting us on her days off! Every single staff member was incredibly attentive, always smiling and willing to assist in any way they could. From the chef ensuring that my parent’s private dinner was perfect for their dietary restrictions and still tasty to Rudy that was their maître d that evening and provided them with 5 star service to Nolan making sure our drinks were just right and that we had everything that we needed on the beach to Jaced who made breakfast every morning a special experience and always made great recommendations for places that we should visit in the area to Ms. Kelly who gave us a true history of the island. The villas are nice and spacious with a great view and the property is very well maintained. You can walk to town from the resort. We rented a car so we could drive to the other end of the island and take the ferry to the other islands. Thank you all for making our parents’ 60th Anniversary a celebration that they will never forget.

I thought I had posted this back in July! My kids (7&10) and I had the most incredible experience at French Leave. Keshan, Karrell, Kizzy and Wayland all took care of us! We had a two bedroom oceanfront villa that was gorgeous. The kids loved their meals as did I - the chef did an amazing job accommodating my shellfish allergy. We were there for 6 days and went to the beach every, single, day. So much fun and such an adventure with the golf carts. I disagree it’s not a good place for kids - it just depends on the age of the kids. I think for ages 6 and up it’s great. It would be tricky less than that - only one smallish pool and lots of hazards. Personally I’m not a fan of huge resorts - if you are - this is likely not the place for you. If you want endless jaw dropping beauty and to disconnect with your toes in the sand - it’s for you I agree the service in the restaurant was slow sometimes, but our room service was almost always within 30 mins and always delivered with a smile. I never waited more than 10 mins for our pool drinks or snacks. And honestly - you are not there to rush! We did an incredible private boat tour up at the north end of the island which was a fun adventure for the kids. Yes go get some supplies at the market - and keep your food in the fridge. Normal for a tropical climate - there are critters all around. I also packed some mac and cheese ;) Burrows was best in my view for the markets. The staff were all amazing! From the prep emails to dealing with issues for us onsite. I can’t say enough. We will be back for sure!!!!

If you are looking for excellence,, pink sands and ultimate luxury getaway, look no further. Luxury resort without the hustle and bustle of Nassau. Truly delightful. The villas are well represented online_spacious and clean. The food on the property was so good other island visitors flock there, and the staff was the absolute best. As travelers of luxury resorts and hotels—-this place tops the staff of Four Seasons. They were very attentive, accommodating, professional and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. I would like to shout out to Nick who took care of us at the beach, Donovan, melissa and Keio. And the managers Karell Cephus and Wayland Adderly! The staff has sold us on booking another trip, the beach and the water simply sealed the deal! If you want a luxury experience where you can enjoy this beautiful island, I would highly recommend it.

From the communication leading up to the trip to every detail while on vacation, the staff at the French Leave Resort couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The villas are positioned perfectly over the beautiful Caribbean waters (with incredible sunsets) and golf carts are provided for the short ride across to the beautiful pink sand beaches on the Atlantic ocean (also gorgeous blue water and with incredible sunrises!). The French Leave Beach was stunning, and never more than a handful of people on the nearly 2 mile stretch. The location is perfect - just a short walk into town (highly recommend the local fish fry festival every Friday). The food at the resort (1648) was all delicious! You could eat dinner with a perfect view of the sunset. The resort has free paddle boards and kayaks to take out and enjoy the water. Highly recommend the French Leave. We would definitely stay again if/when we return to Eleuthera!
