A fuir , c'est la 1ere fois que je rencontre ce genre d'hôtel : - Chambre au 2eme sous les toits , chambre et salle de bain sales et SB moyenâgeuse , parquet abimé +++, odeurs de renfermé ( petit velux pour aérer) Comment peut-on louer ce lieu? - Repas et petit déj : c'est boites de conserve et compagnie ... Seul point positif , le personnel d'accueil est serviable et souriant. C'est les pires 3 nuits que j'ai passé dans un hôtel; habituée à des hôtels d'étape je n'avais jamais rencontré ce genre d'établissement . 1ere et dernière fois que je fréquenterai un hotel KYRIAD

Pre-arrival service was great as I was arriving after the front desk was closed I got instructions on how to get access to my room. The room itself is a typical motel style (ex campanile)n clean and no frills. Breakfast was decent for the type of hotel, from juice to eggs, to pastries, etc.. Checkout was a bit confusing, not realising that the payment was done automatically the receptionist attempted to charge me for 1 extra breakfast as the bill I was showing showed 1 room, 1 breakfast even though the room was booked B&B for 2 people. After further checking things got settled ok.

Friendly staff at reception with good evening meal selection if you dont want to walk to local restaurants. We went on a twenty minute walk to the local 'Buffalo Grill'. However, on return to the hotel bar we observed the food at the hotel appeared to be generous in portions and a number of satisfied customers dining-in. The bar provided a good selection of alcohol/non-alcohol drinks. Our en-suite twin-room was in the motel-type accomodation, which was adequate for a one-night stay but was quite small with limited space to store our clothes and luggage. However, if you are returning to Calais for the ferry/Eurotunnel, this motel is around just a hundred miles away via a straightforward run on the motorway. The off-road motel car park had plenty of spaces and a self-serve petrol station was across the road thirty yards awy.

A typical motel affair, though not up to the standard you would expect. The actual building is run down and in some cases (electrical), it is dangerous. The place is generally in a poor state - see photos. To make matters worse, the Staff are either very overworked or just plain rude. We we ignored for an hour in the restaurant area and ended up leaving and finding an alternative food and drink venue. Sum up - AVOID

I travel for work playing music, so most of our year is spent in hotels. One of the things that I have missed for the last few years is the level of hospitality and serene settings of most of our accommodations in Europe. Kyriad hotel was no exception. Our hosts made us feel welcomed, and greeted us with kindness. The entire property is surrounded by a myriad of flowers and shrubs, all very well cared for, making for a beautiful morning in their outdoor lounging/breakfast area. Before leaving, our hosts found pictures of our band, and requested autographs from all of us. They made us feel like Led Zeppelin, but we are just a small band from New Orleans. Thanks from all of us in Eyehategod!!!
