One of the best vacation experiences I have ever had! Cielo Lodge exceeded all of my expectations and I am so grateful I got to experience such a magical place. The food was delicious, the property was beautiful, and all of the people at Cielo were so welcoming and kind and made life so easy. They planned excursions and took care of all the details. I was so sad when it was time to leave. I hope I can go back someday!

Our Stay at Cielo Eco Lodge Where should we begin. Let’s start by admitting that we travel the world, having been to Asia, Africa, Antarctica, Europe, South America, every US state and every Canadian province, etc., etc. With that out of the way, we have just visited heaven, and it is called the Cielo Eco Lodge. To begin with, immediately upon arrival, you are immersed in the beauty and vibes of the Costa Rican rain forest. From the wild toucans, macaws, and endless other birds, to the seemingly endless varieties of drop dead gorgeous butterflies, the beauty is everywhere. Next, the service is unparalleled anywhere. Your every need or ask is practically anticipated. There simply could be no higher level of service if you were staying at the Four Seasons or the Ritz. In fact, consider how your day begins: after you tell the chef what you’d like to drink, coffee, tea, juices, etc., your service appears magically just outside your door between 5 and 5:30 every morning. Want to sleep in? Do it. Prefer to enjoy your morning coffee at 5AM, do that. Next, breakfast is served around 8AM. We’re talking several course brimming with locally source fresh squeezed juices, to endless local fruits. The food is more than outstanding. We stayed eight days, with the chef creating different three course meals every lunch and dinner, each more unique and incredibly delicious. We have to rate the restaurant every bit of 5 stars! Furthermore, in keeping with where we are located, every meal boasted dozens of local nuts, vegetables, meats, fish, and sauces. Don’t expect to diet on this visit. However, I took the Pritikin Cardiac Rehab program some time ago, and these meals would be rated 5 stars by Pritikin himself. Then there is the pool. You can swim laps or just admire the infinity style solitude and the awesome views. The suites are luxurious in their simple elegance. The architecture is awesome as well. We’ve experienced outdoor showers before, but the one on our private deck was such a delight that my wife and I each often used it twice daily. Once you have showered in the Costa Rican breezes and sunshine, I don’t know how you recover! We are going to remodel our home and install one of these. Did I mention the frogs, toads, dolphins, monkeys, etc., all of which you will see and hear under the guidance of a local naturalist. To sum up, you will never find, in our opinions, a better place to unwind, relax, and rejuvenate while enjoying all the beauty Costa Rica offers, which is just immense and awesome. I’m a little bit of a nature nerd so Cielo Lodge in the rainforest was perfect for me! The little Casita in the rainforest was beautiful, and the hammock on the deck was the perfect touch, but the outdoor shower was pure luxury! Waking up with the sunrise every morning was a beautiful experience and hearing all the birds was just wonderful. I travel all over the world and it is a rare occasion when I am booked in a room with both a bed and pillows that are to my liking, but Cielo nailed it! I wasn’t sure how the chef’s choice format for meals was going to work out, but it was absolutely fabulous The chef is great and has a excellent command of all the local fresh ingredients, including fish and shellfish. Herbs from the Lodge’s garden were such a nice touch. Cocktail hour was definitely enjoyable, and Hector is a master behind the bar. Service at Cielo is what I would call anticipatory ; I never had to ask for anything, somehow somebody always knew what I wanted and it just showed up. The entire staff from the general manager to the servers to the gardeners were welcoming and friendly and made me feel like I was a guest in a good friend’s home. The activities that are included in the stay were great Hiking through the rainforest with something I had never done and that was fabulous. Seeing all the birds and the frogs and the monkeys was just the best experience! I happened to be celebrating my birthday during the week that I was staying, and Cielo Lodge folks made it a memorable event. Best birthday in years. This is a very unique boutique lodge. Whether you go hiking in the rainforest or surfing in the gulf or just lazing by the pool, you’re going to love it. Peace and tranquility reign supreme at Cielo Lodge.

From minute one to our departure - what a wonderful place - As with everything else - Ronald was an excellent chauffer, waiting for us at Golfito Airport, he was so warm and friendly. The team at reception made us feel immediately at home and among friends and the fresh juice as we stepped out of the car was very welcome. We were appreciative of the time to soak up the incredible view from the pool terrace just to rest and settle before checking in and then being taken to our room. Our experience at this point exceeded our expectations - they missed nothing with regards to customer experience. Flawless. Beautiful accommodation - stunning views Our suite blew us away as soon as we stepped inside and saw the incredible view from the balcony...wow! The hammock was such a wonderful way to relax and enjoy the varied sounds of the rainforest. The bed was so comfortable and the outside shower was a very special experience, feeling part of nature in the mornings. The best feature was the openness of the suite at the front and back so it felt that we were immersed in the rain forest. The room was always clean and comfortable, thanks to the staff behind the scenes that worked so hard. Food and catering was way beyond expectations - generous portions - outstanding quality - serviced with permanent smiles. Delvin and his chefs were so inventive and creative with their menus. The delicious homegrown and local produce were transformed into works of art that tasted as good as they looked. And the vegetarian options were incredible, always a tasty alternative to the meat or fish dishes. On a scale of 1-10 .. we'd give it 11. Staff so kind and thoughtful, happy, informed and always willing / able to help. Hector, Julie, Katherine and Natalie are such an asset to Cielo Lodge, always serving us with smiles and nothing was too much trouble. Delia is such an excellent General Manager enabling the smooth running of the Lodge, so helpful, and always had a smile for us. Our trips to Corcovado, the Mangroves and the evening frog walks were greatly enhanced by the knowledgeable and enthusiastic External excursion with Josue and Christina who made them so interesting and enjoyable. again - way beyond expectations. Keith and Nicole and team are creating something unique and extraordinary. well worth the money and our contribution to their investment. it's a cliche but our stay was priceless! in summary - From the minute we disembarked from the Sansa plane at Golfito airport to re-embarking to start our journey home we were treated to a wonderful experience from every perspective - the accommodation and surroundings are truly stunning, the staff happy and helpful, the food and service marvellous and charming. What's more the fellow travellers we met were all so pleasant and interesting to spend time with and get to know. We could not have asked for a more wonderful Spring Break Trip! The lodge was as beautiful as pictured, as was the food! The attention to detail and the service that each member of the team delivered was astonishing! Best hotel experience of our lives! Nobody wanted to leave!

Everything at Cielo is first class plus!! From the airport pick-up to the warm reception, the absolutely fantastic meals, beautiful grounds, pool, and room, to the above and beyond service exceeded our expectations! The area is beautiful, the facilities deluxe. We'll be back
