A magical place! We eloped to Blanket Bay in June 2022 and it was an unbelievable experience. Firstly, we can’t thank the staff enough for everything, what a fantastic, genuine group of people. The lodge and surrounds are spectacular. The nightly degustation dinner was some of the best food we have ever eaten. (Goats cheese tortellini with honeycomb, burnt butter & pine nuts was addictive, thanks chef for the extra portion) Other highlights, the room with mountain views, dinner by the outdoor fireplace, the lake for a cold plunge, cocktail hour & the overall interior & ambiance throughout the lodge. Oh, and we were lucky enough to wake up and see Blanket Bay covered in snow. Thanks again Blanket Bay! Katie + Lawrence

Exceptional and Magnificent in every way. Excellent location, dreamy lake and mountain views, lots of pretty grounds to walk on, superb service, friendly and courteous staff, excellent food—breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of the best massages I’ve ever had—ask for Pascale!! This resort was just EVERYTHING LUXURY… and they paid attention to every little detail. Thanks to Andrew, Steph, Nina, Pascale and all the other amazing Blanket Bay staff. My husband and I are very grateful to you for making our stay so delightful!!! We will be back!!

lam shocked! The front desk team is unprofessional. I checked in their suite and the size is good. The moment I walk in the room, the main door hardly can closed. The rate that I pay for is not worth it. There are so many mosquitos everywhere in the room. They have a garden patio walk out but not serve any purpose without view. They should inform the clients before hand how long the hotel been operating and even the lift need to upgrade soon. We had to wait for sometime going down. In our suit smell from sewage was so bad, that I woke up in night because of its smell. I'm so disappointed. Not as nice as the pictures suggest at all. They try to rip you off for every penny. Everything you may expect to be included an another resort will include free, they will charge for, at insane rates.

Magnificent in every sense! Visually you will not find a more beautiful vista. The service is impeccable. The food sublime . The staff turns themselves inside out to make sure your visit is beyond your expectations. It was a long way for us to to go but I’d go back again in a second .

This is one of the worst hotel I have stayed at. Room is awkwardly designed and old. First of all it does not deserve the Relais & Chateaux brand. The rooms look drab and the design is bad. After I saw the room, I was generally terrified with the decor , it’s so depressing like a ******* House .The water pressure very weak and it was not draining property. Moreover it was splashing all over the place. The bathroom overall looked worn. The hotel is very poorly maintained. All rooms smell stale and look very old. Definitely this hotel is over priced given its infrustructure and service. Everywhere is so dirty, from lobby's rugs to room's chaires/sofa, you can find stains everywhere. I am not sure if the towels are clean to be honest. The bathroom amenities are very cheap , they brought them from supermarket, guess ….It does not feel like a luxury hotel and I have stayed at many of them. Luxury was certainly nowhere to be found. But the worst part is the service!! and this is what luxury hotels are all about.. SERVICE! Check- In was very bad, her name is Deb from reception( if she will greet & meet you - immediately run !!!!!) We did have the personal impression, that there is very poor management at this hotel, as we could not really recognize any service standard in behavior of the staff. It seemed to be so, that all decisions and actions were made based on the current emotional condition and personal understanding of service, and not on any instruction or standard. Deb didn’t allow us even to reach our room considering how we were tired after trip , immediately she started to sell us the old fashion sweaters and telling us in a very rude way the rules of their hotels : breakfast, lunch , dinner are all on a fixed time , if u will come a bit late , your problem , no one will serve u any food !!! After she started to sell us very expensive excursions and when we asked some other ideas where we can get a bit cheaper not for 2500$ - she became mad and rude with us ! The reason for this behavior is that, when she realized she could not sell us the expensive trips she got upset and lost interest in providing any help. This really was the worst experience of my life. An experience such as this can competent ruin a vacation like it did for us. I guarantee you guys there are a million better places to stay in Glenorchy for half the price. ( ex. The Headwaters Eco Lodge ). I would advise management to pass Matakauri Lodge , The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs how all staff are amazing & professionals!!!! Start to train your staff how to meet and greet your guests!!

Just wanted to say how much we loved Blanket Bay. It was incredible - every day was better than the day before and they were all exceptional. We had the most amazing time!!! Our activities were arranged by Walk into Luxury including heli- hiking a section of Milford Track & Earnslaw plus a day walk on the Routeburn. The lodge was heaven on earth. The dining was next level with lovely staff and incredible facilities. Highly recommend this experience.
