Expectation High, Delivery Very Low - Over Priced For The Service & Accommodation Got the price we were charged we were expecting something amazing. As you drive in, the house is very impressive, the way it stands, architecture, detail etc. The views would have been amazing from our rooms, but were obscure by scaffolding, something we were not told about prior to booking or arriving. If we had known this we would have cancelled. The greeting was OK, but again nothing amazing. We were shown to our suite which at first glance looked great. However we soon discovered that our bed was a zip and link and not even connected/zipped up together! Let that sink in circa £2,000 for two night accommodation and food and we have a zip and link bed, not properly connected or lined up. The TV would not work as it just said loading all the time. We returned after the first night, to find the housekeeping team had left the rubbish from our suite and someone else’s on the desk in our hallway. We also had a guest walking into our suite via a door that had been left open off what looked like a fire escape. The BT speaker did not work and when you went to the toilet (situated directly in front of an unfrosted window, you just looked over some camping pods/lodge type accommodation. All of this was reported to the front desk at the time, they were supposedly going to sort. The only thing that happened was the rubbish was removed. The TV, BT Speaker, Bed and security issue were not addressed. When checking out, again I spoke to the front desk and supposedly the GM was going to call me! Here we are 6 months on and still waiting.

We stayed here for two nights as a family of 3 (2 adults, one child age 8). The good: -the suite we stayed in had a large sitting/living room area -in this area, we had breakfast and dinner. While the inn does not have a restaurant or bar onsite they do have a) a kitchen and you can order meals to your room and b) our room (& I assume the other rooms) have well stocked bars to make drinks for purchase. It was great to be able to eat in our room, especially after long days of sightseeing (& because we hadn’t brought any dressy clothing). The dinners were especially tasty. -our bedroom had a nice alcove where the staff set up a cozy cot for our daughter -the grounds are lovely -the bathroom was spacious and the shower was excellent -the staff were kind and responsive, aiming to help and accommodate questions, etc Could be improved: -so, this is very subjective, but the inn felt very isolated. I suspect I would have liked this aspect more if my husband and I were visiting for a romantic weekend away. But, as a family, it felt a bit eerie to be so far away from everything. -the bedroom didn’t have a lot of space for luggage so it felt cramped to us -small gripe but the shampoo and conditioner was very drying and not great. It’s important to know what this is more similar to an inn or bread and breakfast, vs a hotel. If you’re looking for a cozy inn, nestled into remote mountains, this will be perfect for you. But, for a family who might need more of hotel-esque environment, it’s less well suited.

Quelle magnifique surprise ! Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Très joli manoir reconverti en hôtel. Authentique et plein de charme. Idéalement situé pour apprécier cette belle région. Nous avons adoré que le dîner et le petit déjeuner soient servis en chambre. Mention spéciale au chef Sébastien pour sa cuisine savoureuse et sa gentillesse. Un grand merci pour l’accueil et les petites attentions pour les enfants.

Très bel hotel "dans le jus " Suite splendide avec très belle salle de bains . Repas dans la chambre , je dirai plutôt dans la salle à manger privée. Très beau parc aux alentours . Accueil très chaleureux .Personnel très gentil et très attentionné . Chef proposant des plats raffinés et excellents! Que du positif

We stayed in one of the suites for our wedding anniversary, thinking that the whole experience would be special. How wrong were we! This was the worst but the most expensive hotel we stayed in out of our whole trip around The Scottish Highlands. Empty bottles of wine were in the maxi bar fridge, This should have been checked prior to our arrival! The beds were 2 cheap divan beds shoved together with the ugly base showing, The carpets looked threadbare, but had just been replaced apparantly?? A fire exit door in the corridor of the suite! Which seemed accesable from the other side into the suite. I would also expect individual toiletries when you are paying £750 a night not ones filled up after previous guests. The room was painted in a really strange medical blue colour, There are no grounds to wander around.There is a lawn area, however you would encroach the hot tub suites privacy if you walked down it, theres just a rickety old bench to sit on. This place freaked me out that much that I had to sleep with a lamp on all night. The place had a shutter island feeling to it. We had the in suite dining experience, and the food was O k! All in all we couldn't wait to get away from this very odd place. It certainly ruined our special Anniversary.

The highlight of our family trip to Scotland—we only wish we could have stayed for more than two nights. The house and setting were beautiful, and the views from our room were even more striking than anticipated. We had dinner served in our suite both nights, including one night when we dined with extended family staying in another suite—an experience that was simultaneously elegant and intimate.
