Cedar House is a historic character home, a leading boutique accomodation, luxurious. We enjoyed a wonderful stay in the Tokomaru suite and absolutely loved it. Breakfast was ok, but we did miss toppings such as cheese or cold cuts. Our hosts Penny and Roger were very friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome.

We stayed at cedar house for 2 nights and it was the most comfortable stay . Lovely large room ,and bathroom a lounge upstairs and also a kitchenette . Penny & Roger were lovely hosts ,we didn't use the pool but everything was great ! Would definitely stay there again when in Gisbourne

"Absolutely stunning" is the only way to describe this place. I was blown away as soon as I walked in. The rooms are huge, the decor is of the highest quantity, and the landscaping is amazing. Staying here was a real treat and I'd highly recommend

We stayed at Cedar House for two nights. The house is awesome, very large bedrooms and lounge with high ceilings and lovely wood interiors. We stayed in Tokomaru, a large bedroom with a fabulous bathroom..The property is also well located close to the town centre. Unfortunately, the experience is let down by a very basic self service breakfast, we were also surprised that despite staying two nights our room was not serviced. The property is five star but the service is two star so only 3 stars overall. More Airbnb than B&B all be it beautifully furnished and very well equipped.

Cedar House surpassed our expectations. Our bedroom was large and extremely comfortable. It is an historic building in Gisborne - at one time a girls' school. The current owners, Penny and Roger have created a stunning guest house inside the wood-panelled walls. There is a heated pool and plenty of lounging area inside and out. They were helpfully on hand to advise and suggest, even when in the middle of laying compost on the flower beds. It is very conveniently located in a residential street on the edge of everything .

Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Park the car and walk to the town or harbour for dinner. Plenty of room and a great swimming pool too. The owners were knowledgeable about local places of interest and the best places to eat. Also the place was amazing
