Sarovar Portico Gir resort is very strategically located and easy on the pocket, its close to both the Lion Safari and the Devaliya Interpretation Zone, The hotel ambience is very neatly done..with a pool and play area for children.The resort staff is very friendly and always ready to make amendments as per the convenience of the guest. Mr. Rahul, the Guest Relation manager was very helpful in assisting us with all the necessary arrangements. All in all it was a wonderful stay, and we plan to go back there in the monsoon season too

Sarovar Portico Gir would thrill a bird-lover. Lion sightings are a matter of luck. We sighted a Lioness, other than Nilgais, Mongoose, Sambhar, Deers, Peacocks, Monkeys and a Mongoose. We stayed in a Forest view Studio room. A well maintained swimming pool, badminton court and activity area keeps the kids busy. A documentary on Gir was shown in one of the evenings. The safari was also booked a month in advance, and we could share it with another guest couple. Mr Rahul or Mr Piyush should be contacted for the same.The room was spacious enough for the three of us. A Bird watching trip in the evening with Mr Rahul helped us identify the names of birds that we could shoot with our camera. There are over 200 types of bird in Gir. Overall superb experience So pack your bags right away.

We had great experiences staying at Sarovar hotel. Room was clean, food was great and we were looked after by their staff and Management, I would stay here next time I am in Gir Thank you so much for great hospitality. Excellent location in Gir.

For there most premium room, suites , we had no services, every order (as sinple as water bottle) is like ages, no laundry bag, no clean room (felt like it was closed for like months), dust (got allergic reactions to my 1 year toddler), no bathroom slipper, no proper toiletries. Food in the buffet was stale and cold, in the ala-carte everything was like 45 mins minimum. Bathroom, again not used for long hence clogged taps, the basin tap was soo clogged that its waterflow was directly into the jacuzzi, speaking of which, the jacuzzi when used couldn't drain, and thank god it didn't drain, cos as soon as the soap dried, we had dirt and filth stains at all corners of the jacuzzi, the tap didnt work properly, I mean what to say, also they write on a small board "please ask us for our signature choice of toiletries for your requirement l" , when I asked , they came with used plastic water bottles filled with local down market shampoo and bodywash , when I said whats this, they said its the same used to fill the fancy bottle provided to you already. Sarovar should rethink there association with the property, poor cleanliness, poor staff, bad service, it's like everything one can ask for not to have and that too at there most premium category. Just dont go there .
