Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Georgetown Lake

-Green to the Extreme- This hotel should have 5 stars as they have excellent breakfast, the facility is renovated and in good shape, parking is free and common areas are well-maintained. My main problem pertains to their "Green" practice, which has been taken to an extreme level. As a "green" hotel, the lights in the room shut off completely after 30 minutes of in-room motion. Working at the desk in my room, I had the lights shut off 5 times while I was trying to work at my desk (very annoying). Secondly, all of the outlets are set to green timers so they shut-off after 30 minutes. This means that their own alarm clock doesn't work because it resets to 12 AM every 30 minutes......lol.....why is it even in the room? Being green is one thing, penny pinching is another. If they truly wanted to save the environment, they wouldn't have a hot tub and pool (believe it or not, heating these puppies 24-7 costs far more than shutting off visitor's high efficiency LED lights and outlets. Get rid of these bologna problems and you will get five stars.

Was charged for a little bit of hair dye on towel

The staff was exceptionally friendly from the minute we walked in. They saw we had a two year old and made numerous suggestions for places to take her around town.

What a beautiful area, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very nice and they had secure wifi which was awesome.

I arrived an hour early before check in time. The woman at the front desk was super helpful & friendly. As soon as a room was available I was able to check in early which was very nice after snowboarding

Nice clean hotel at a convenient location. Good free breakfast. I did have some confusion with my booking through *******. I arrived late and the front desk said my reservation was canceled due to the late arrival. The hotel then proceeded to charge me again for one night of 2 night stay. Initially the hotel manager said that there was nothing they could do. I contacted ******* and they called the hotel and coordinated getting my duplicate charge reversed. The second hotel manager called me back and explained what caused the mixup (new staff) and said that she had flagged the charge herself via her audit. Issue resolved professionally by both ******* and Microtel.
