Checked in quickly route to room was explained and easy to follow facilities were good room was clean burger king was convenient

It has been a wonderful experience

Stayed here for 6 nights whilst wife was in nearby hospital having major surgery - very convenient location about 15 mins by car to hospital, and also 15 mins walk to a bus route which took a further 15 mins to stop outside the hospital, so excellent for visiting. My room was at the rear on the first floor, and although the location is next to a very busy dual carriageway, and it was a busy bank holiday weekend, the room was extremely quiet. Apart from hearing people moving about in the corridor, I did not hear the sounds of people in adjoining rooms. The facilities were clean, there was endless milk, coffee sachets etc on offer by the staff, and a nice touch was the soft-close toilet seat (I have been to some much more expensive hotels where they are not present, and I don't even have one of these at home!) The staff were very happy, friendly, and extremely helpful, and the adjoining 'Greggs/Burger King/Subway' premises was convenient to nip over to for breakfast. Wi-fi was cheap, very strong and reliable.

Old Travelodge, smelt of mould, shower rails rusty, remote controls filthy, just needs a refurb. Location good and next to Greggs, Subway and a Petrol Station if you needed supplies. Ample parking. Receptionist on arrival was fantastic, the one when I left completely uninterested. Great to be able to top up tea/coffee in reception too. Please travelodge invest in your hotels!!!

This hotel is situated 10 minutes from relatives so is in an ideal location when visiting. Having food outlets on site is very handy as is the petrol station next door. The hotel is easy to get to, clean and tidy with free parking.

Rooms are affordable but bedsheets are not washed properly and I didn’t sleep well because of beer smell.

Great place to stay. Very good value for money. Room was clean and warm. Free parking and right next door is a Greg’s bakery, Subway sandwich and Burger King. 200 meters away is a petrol station. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Can’t say enough about them.

We booked the room because we needed a stopover on our way from East Anglia to Scotland and it was cheap. We only were in the room about 9 hours all told and for this length of stay it was more than acceptable. Room was a little tired, floor above creaked when walked on, but shower was good and bed was comfortable. Staff were also friendly and welcoming.

Good stop over and a cheap taxi ride to centre of South Shields or metro station. Quiet and does the basics. No plug sockets next to bed so charge phone, electronics up, next to desk. Shower was hot, tv okay to watch and you can open windows. Heating was ample. Got a Greggs next door!
