太陽屋旅館(The Sun House)

Just reopened following refurbishment, this is a gorgeous place to stay in Galle. Really charming colonial style house retaining real character, but some sleek interior design touches, beautiful gardens with frangipani trees, flowers, lovely pool and the odd monkey! Great food - some fusion dishes making it a bit different to the usual fare and delicious cocktails. Because it's just a short walk outside the fort it means there's much more space, a lovely pool, and it's only 10 mins to get there. highly recommended - and very good value given how great the place is. Staff really friendly and helpful - we came with our baby and they loved her..We have stayed a lot of places in sri lanka and this is now one of our favourites!

A master piece! Came here for a drink and ended up staying the night. Such a beautiful house with great art and antique furniture. Lovely garden and pool to relax in and the staff were lovely. Couldn't really fault anything. Its not on the beach but a short Tuk Tuk journey away and walking distance to the fort. This is a must for anyone looking to stay in Galle.

Amazing stay at the sun house. The house has been renovated to a great standard, super comfortable rooms and a nice pool. Really good food and very attentive service, the head chef is a legend. We stayed for 5-6 nights and would highly recommend it. Especially amazing if you can hire out the whole place as a large group

My family and I booked the sun house for 4 nights and we had such an amazing time! The chef was so accommodating to my baby’s meal times and all her needs (cot/mosquito nets/repellent/high chair). The rooms were so heavenly and we were so well taken care of by the team. I had to add a picture of our bathroom which divine - facing the jungle. The property itself is beautiful. It was really great to be so close to the Galle fort (minutes away by Tuk) - had amazing dinners there too. Can’t wait to come back.

Wow what a stunning property! Newly renovated but still has amazing charm and character. Lovely gardens with a pool and great restaurant. I think the rooms are all very different so make sure to pick one out from the website. We stayed in the Taprobane suite which was amazing.

Perched on the side of a hill overlooking Galle, Sunhouse is a secluded oasis of calm tastefully decorated and riven with the romantic a**osphere of idyllic times gone by. Moreover the service was kind and caring and the food delicious. I look forward to returning.
