I am amazed by these rave reviews. Palazzo Daniele is a once-beautiful historic building that has been allowed to deteriorate, has been the subject of only cursory restoration, and is still in dire need of basic maintenance and repair. It’s beyond me why your reviewers seem to think that crumbling plasterwork, flaking paint, rusting ironwork and meals served in chipped crockery, not to mention guest accommodation and appointments that make Premier Inns look like five star luxury, deserve such acclaim. And all charged for at eye wateringly expensive rates. Phrases used by your reviewers such as "a truly unique concept of style, beauty and historical values" and "a truly marvellous experience" make me wonder if they were at the same place that I was. And as for the smug and pretentious claim of one of your reviewers that those guests who may share my opinions "don't get the concept", I'd suggest that that is classic case of the Emperor’s New Clothes - that particular person seems to be oblivious to the place's blindingly obvious shortcomings. Its only saving grace is its staff - without exception lovely people, mostly young, attentive, intelligent and helpful. All a delight to deal with. One can only hope that they don’t realise that they are participants in a charade - the pretence being that this shabby pile is somehow a top quality boutique hotel.

The pictures on the website do truly show this hotel as it is . Beautiful in every way . Spacious , quiet , an oasis of calm . Fantastic public rooms , courtyard , garden and outdoor eating area . Breakfast was perfect , dinner a delight , every member of staff a pleasure to engage with .

The staff here are unbelievable, so friendly and kind and go out of their way to make your stay a memorable experience. The palazzo is indeed stunning albeit in a village of little note with little to do. It’s a place to tour from. For this price, and it’s expensive, everything should be to a high quality, and it wasn’t. Worn frayed bath mat, chipped crockery, rising damp in a corner of the bedroom, slight smell of damp, windows with peeling paint and mold coming through in the bathroom really let this stunning place down. Perhaps it was just our room……We own an old listed property, the issues we mention aren’t the hallmarks of faded glamour or of an old building, but of a lack of investment. Shame as the staff and building are really superb.

One of the most astonishing boutique hotel in south of Italy. Great mix from an old palazzo with modern design. Would highly recommend. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Very good wine list and the food is delicious. Many extra experiences possible (massage, cooking classes, boat trips…)

Ho pernottato due notti a Palazzo Daniele nel mese di giugno, sono stata al ristorante anche l'anno prima - 2022. Posto incantevole, sicuramente esteticamente impressionante, staff gentile. mi è sembrato che la cucina non fosse al livello dell'obiettivo percepito di hotel di lusso. il menù è ok, la materia prima buona, ma i piatti non sono saporiti. alcuni dei prezzi sono fuori proporzione. il personale è gentile ma non era pronto sui piatti (il menu è breve, e comunque non è cambiato durante le. due cene a distanza di un anno). le camere sono sicuramente impressionanti per dimensione ma hanno dei difetti come l'acustica (dai corridoi si sente tutto), l'illuminazione (impossibile truccarsi o vestirsi la sera, banalmente disfare le valigie) e nel caso della mia stanza il bagno assolutamente non all'altezza (doccia vecchia e piccolissima, tipo 70x70cm, per una camera da 1000€ a notte non è adeguata). Non c'è il frigo in camera, quello nella "cucina" comune era spento, non ci hanno cambiato le bottigliette d'acqua per due notti/tre giorni. In sintesi vedo l'intento, la voglia di risaltare, la "forma"; non trovo un riflesso adeguato nella sostanza. Ha il potenziale di essere un'oasi dalla quale non uscire per tutto il tempo del soggiorno, ma secondo la mia opinione il servizio non è completo o all'altezza di altre strutture in puglia ugualmente belle - ma anche meno costose - che ti fanno sentire benvenuto, coccolato e che anticipano i tuoi bisogni.
