Uma situação desagradável que vivi quando fui enganada pelas imagens que estavam no site e fiz a reserva de três noites no Hotel Monte Carlo no Funchal, Madeira. De 31/12 a 03/01/2024 O vosso hotel foi uma perfeita desilusão: Velho; a cair de podre; chão de madeira com buracos e podre; portas e janelas a fechar mal; paredes e tectos com bolor, manchas e pedaços a cair; barulhos a toda a hora; comida fria e mal confecionada. É inimaginável a gritante e evidente falta de manutenção há anos! Salva se só a vista. Estava tudo tão mau que passada a primeira noite viemos embora e tive de procurar outro hotel as duas noites seguintes. Este Hotel esta num estado deplorável e custa a entender como pode estar aberto.

Un hôtel très décevant, petit déjeuner inexistant,chambre insalubre, Ne pas mettre le papier toilette dans la cuvette (charmant) Un lavabo sans eau, une moquette ou ne pas poser les pieds nus. Une odeur nauséabonde constante. Une piscine ou l'eau était dégoûtante. La cerise sur le gâteau, le taxi commandé a de nombreuses reprises pour 7h le matin n'est jamais arrivé. Je termine avec une note positive, le personnel est sympathique. La vue imprenable sur Funchal.

A classificação de 3 estrelas deve ter largos anos, atualmente, no máximo, deveria ser considerado uma pensão. O edifício é efetivamente muito antigo, mas em vez desse fator jogar a favor, piora toda e qualquer expectativa. Começando pelo quarto, este encontrava-se num edifício exterior, obrigando uma pessoa a ter que fazer um caminho completamente escuro para o edifício (igualmente velho). Dentro do quarto, bastou passar um dedo na mesinha de cabeceira para ver o pó todo acumulado como se vê na imagem, tanto que as frestas do mobiliário não deixam dúvidas para a falta de limpeza e higiene. A casa de banho, além de cheia de teias de aranha, está completamente cheia de humidade e o chuveiro além de não ter pressão para tomar um banho em condições, tinha um aspeto asqueroso como mostrado na fotografia, já para não falar dos cortinados completamente rasgados. Passando para o pequeno-almoço, o serviço é absolutamente TERRÍVEL, louça mal lavada e claramente suja, cadeiras rotas, o pão parece já ter dois dias e não há grande oferta de comida. O café sabe a água. Na fotografia é possível ver restos de batata frita, ficando a questão de quando eram, porque em três dias de pequeno almoço nunca foi servida batata frita. Não ter wi-fi nos quartos hoje em dia não faz qualquer sentido e é imperdoável. Os funcionários não são os mais simpáticos, mas são relativamente compreensivos. No meio de tudo isto, salvam-se as camas que são efetivamente confortáveis e a vista que é muito boa. O preço pode efetivamente ser convidativo, mas não se deixem enganar a esperar um hotel de 3 estrelas.

A vista do hotel é linda mas não me parece que seja fator suficiente para compensar o preço/qualidade do serviço. As portas dos quartos não trancam, temos de deixar sempre a chave na recepção quando saímos, não há internet nos quartos e o pequeno almoço é tudo menos buffet. Para além disso, estivemos quase 1h para fazer check-in.

Uma lástima! O quarto não ficava sequer no edifício principal fica num terraço como se fosse um alojamento à parte! sem condições algumas e para não falar que o quarto que reservei não ia de encontro às imagens partilhadas.

We visited the Monte Carlo hotel today for a drink on the terrace. We made the expedition with the intention of looking around the hotel to see if it would suit us for our next visit to Madeira in the autumn. I ordered a Campari and soda, my husband a Coca Cola. There was no soda water so I asked for fizzy water instead. Our drinks arrived promptly and we enjoyed them while taking in the splendid views. The bill came to €9.00 and when I paid with a €10.00 note the waiter asked if I wanted my change. I have never experienced this in all my visits to Madeira and I was quite surprised as we usually leave a tip of our own choice on the table when we leave. Unfortunately we decided this is not the hotel for us and will not be returning.

Absolutely loved this place !! But beware. !! Not for the faint hearted. !! Room 35 recommended but we didn't get that one. Supermarket 500 meters away for supplies. Pool with eagles and cruise ships. This must be the most value for money offer going.

My recent stay at Monte Carlo ‘Hotel’ was nothing short of diabolical. From the moment we entered our assigned hotel room, we were greeted by an offensive odor that permeated the air. The room itself was far from what we had paid for, as the hotel management failed to even provide a basic double bed, let alone a comfortable and clean one. The overall state of the room was appalling, with tatty, old furnishings and an undeniable lack of cleanliness. The breakfast experience was equally disheartening. This was the most cheapest quality breakfast we’ve ever come across, with the poorest quality bread, fruit which was past its used by date, and very below standard. Despite informing the hotel reception of our dietary restrictions, our requests were blatantly disregarded. The kitchen staff's lack of hygiene while handling food was not only unprofessional but also deeply concerning. Whilst we were waiting for clean cups to be brought out the Indian worker in the kitchen was picking his spots blatantly in front of us, and thereafter cutting the fruit. Furthermore, the hotel's misleading claim of Wi-Fi availability only in public areas reflects a lack of transparency and fails to meet the expectations of modern travelers. The hotel's location also proved to be inconvenient and misrepresented. The uphill trek from the town center, compounded by the lack of accessibility from the airport bus, made reaching the hotel a cumbersome ordeal. This crucial information was conveniently omitted from the hotel's marketing materials, leading to a significant inconvenience for guests. But that wasn’t all, even to get to the rooms most of which are in outbuildings. You have to treck up and down in the outer space of the property to get your to your room potentially. To top it all off, the absence of hot water from the outset of our stay, followed by a sudden disconnection without prior notice ‘from the owners’ was utterly unacceptable. The management's failure to communicate such a fundamental issue l prompted by ourselves to front desk ‘Pedro’ further demonstrates a lack of consideration for customer experience. In addition to these issues, upon arrival at the hotel, we were surprised to find notices in the lift stating that no outside food or drink could be brought into the hotel. This policy meant that if guests wanted to sit on the terrace and have a drink or a cup of tea or coffee when returning to their rooms, there were no facilities available. Furthermore, the complete lack of professionalism and accountability displayed by the hotel's management was equally distressing. Instead of addressing our legitimate concerns, the management seemed more interested in self indulgence on the terrace and consuming alcohol. When we expressed our profound disappointment with the numerous issues we encountered, they even went so far as to suggest that we leave the property. Excellent Great experience from hotel owners Francisco and Rita to the staff Pedro on reception and Harry on Bar. Fantastic views from outside terrace and roof top pool This is an old building with lots of character and charm, so don't expect all the modern amenities 5 minutes walk into old town centre
