IHG Army Hotels in Normandy House & Carolina Inn.

One Star due to lowest possible rating. I made my reservation in November 2021 for February 2022. The reservation process worked as you would expect (END OF GOOD). When checking in, I did not receive the room I had booked and was put in "Normandy House" instead of in Moon. Arriving at the Normandy House, there is no parking so you have to park across the street (not too terrible). There are no ramps for handicapped or disabled people and no ramps to bring luggage up, only stairs. I made it to the main entrance....LOCKED. I wandered around the outside looking for a side entrance, and found one that works with the room key. I made it inside.....I figure out I'm on the second floor. There is no elevator, only stairs. So, now I'm carrying 60 pound suitcases up NARROW stairs. I find my room. Upon entry, it smelled....dirty. There are 15 dead bugs littering the floors....only 3 of the 15 were roaches. The internet did not work. I called the front desk, and they gave me a number to call to troubleshoot to fix it. Wait....it's not my internet, why am I responsible for resolving internet connectivity issues for the "hotel" (I use this term loosely)? I called the number the front desk gave me and it's "no longer in service." I called the front desk back and they said, I'd have to wait until the next morning for IT to fix it. REALLY? I found the router at the never manned main desk and PLUGGED IT IN.....REALLY? It was getting cold outside, and a draft was coming through the windows and getting cold inside. I turned on the heater....it sounds like a generator running in the room.....so i had a choice to make....either be warm and not sleep with the "generator" running....or be cold. House keeping: only comes once per week and if you need more coffee or towels, you have to drive 1.5 miles to Moon hall.... Ammenities: There is a small round table with 2 chairs that are basically useless. A small refrigerator, 2 televisions, a Keurig, a dresser, 2 nightstands and 3 beds packed into a slightly larger than normal room. In the shower, there is no place to put your soaps. There is barely enough room to put your toiletries in the bathroom (toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, deodorant, shaving cream).. Recommendation: Condemn and remodel. Alternative recommendation: Tear down and rebuild.
